Chapter 49

●●●

Taehyung didn't stay for long. Not even the night. The explanation Jimin gave was that Taehyung wasn't used to leaving the sea for longer periods and started feeling homesick pretty quickly.

Jimin left with him just to make sure he wouldn't be straying through the dark streets of Busan for too long. When Jimin came back Yoongi was already in bed asleep, so when Yoongi finally got to answer the questions that had been burning on his tongue since Taehyung showed up, they were eating breakfast.

Namjoon still wasn't back, most likely had pulled an all-nighter. He'd be back soon... probably.

"So... what did Taehyung and you... communicate?" He asked, not knowing how else to call it.

"Just where he has been over the last years. He has told me about some pretty cool places I have to go to someday." The older explained smiling brightly and digging into his pancake.

"Anything else? I don't know. Something that's somewhat important? I mean, you two haven't seen each other in forever." Yoongi grabbed the sweet hot chocolate Jimin had prepared for him and leant back in his seat.

"Not really. We're both doing our thing so we don't really meddle with the other's life. He wanted to apologize for hissing at you earlier. He was worried you might have been posing a threat for me." Jimin explained, before remembering something that made his face light up. "And he said you seem like a good guy. I think he likes you..."

For some reason that made Yoongi feel pretty relieved. No matter the situation Taehyung still was Jimin's brother. His only family Yoongi knew about. And apparently that part of the family seemed to have accepted him.

"I'm glad to hear that... he seems okay too. I'm just a bit uncomfortable with the..." "...not talking thing?" Jimin asked, cocking his head.

Yoongi shook his head. "The eating humans thing."

Jimin's mouth formed a small oh before he nodded. "Yeah okay, fair enough. He won't eat you I promise."

"That doesn't make the whole thing better." The black haired boy sighed, leaning back.

There was a noise and they could hear the entry door to the apartment open, followed by Namjoon's voice. "Hey, you guys forgot to lock the door."

"We didn't. I didn't want to get up in the middle of the night just to open the door for you in case you were going to come home. And it's not like anyone would break into one of these apartments. People who live here aren't worth robbing anyways and are more likely to be armed than the thieves themselves." Yoongi explained when Namjoon entered the room.

Jimin got up. "You want to eat your breakfast or dinner? I prepared both."

"How about both." Namjoon sighed, dropping onto the seat and letting his head hang back. "I think I haven't digested anything but energy drinks for the last 24 hours."

"Do you want your vegetables on your pancake?" Jimin joked, taking a plate and adding Namjoon's dinner to it.

"Ugh I think I don't want to eat after all." Namjoon complained teasingly, before looking at the cup that was in Yoongi's hand. "Do you think you could make me some hot chocolate as well or would that be too much work?"

"No problem." Jimin quickly reassured, handing Namjoon his plate before grabbing the already cleaned pot and adding milk to it.

"So why did you spend the night at the studio?" Yoongi asked, crossing his legs under the table.

"Bad news or good news first?" Namjoon asked straight faced. Yoongi hesitated for a second before answering. "Bad news."

"I'm absolutely exhausted and so will you be, I promise." Namjoon stated and Yoongi raised an eyebrow.

"And the good news?"

"Check twitter."

"Okay?" Yoongi got up to grab his phone from where it was lying in his room. When opened twitter, he felt his heart stop. His inbox seemed to have blown up, so did his notifications. When he checked his profile he realized that he had gained over 50 thousand followers overnight.

When he reentered the kitchen Namjoon was smugly sipping on his fresh hot chocolate. "What do you think?"

Yoongi had no idea what to say. "What the hell happened?" He couldn't believe this was happening.

"It took me some time to find out where all of them were coming from but apparently G-Dragon posted about one of your songs mentioning how he's just stumbled across it and really enjoyed listening to it. He was just the first one though. After him followed a couple of other influencers who also mentioned your songs and shit keeps coming."

Yoongi's heart was acting out in his chest. He couldn't believe this was actually happening. No way. He never had that kind of luck.

"Are you serious?"

Namjoon grinned broadly. "I am." He got up from his seat and handed Yoongi his phone. "I got some calls in the morning. They are considering to have an interview with you, depending on whether the numbers keep rising, but so far feedback has been great."

Yoongi nodded. This was surreal. "There already are a few articles that mention you. So far only good things. Thought you might want to check them out." Namjoon continued and Yoongi shook his head. There were tears biting at the corners of his eyes but he wasn't going to cry here. Not in Namjoon's presence.

Jimin seemed to notice and quickly came to his rescue. "Ah Yoongi I kind of couldn't find my notebook earlier. Do you have an idea where it is?" He walked over to Yoongi, placing a hand on his back and quickly leading him out of the room towards their bedroom.

As soon as they were out of hearing distance he turned towards Yoongi with a frown before whispering. "Hey are you okay? Is something wrong?"

Yoongi shook his head, covering his mouth with his hand and sliding down the wall as Jimin closed the door. His whole body shook under the intensity of his sobs. He didn't even know why he was crying. Those were good news so why was he crying?

Jimin dropped to his knees in front of Yoongi pulling him into a tight hug. "You did it. You finally got the attention you deserve." Jimin's voice was just a whisper but the words burnt into Yoongi's heart. He could hear the sincerity in them. Jimin meant what he was saying.

Yoongi let out another shuddering breath. This was real. This wasn't a dream he was going to wake up from and suddenly feel so empty and irrelevant. Maybe this was his chance. His chance to actually make it. Let his hobby become his job. Make his dream reality.
