Halfway home

My mum told me to walk halfway home with her

As everyone has already left my birthday party

So I pulled on my coat

Over my maroon party dress

And we stepped outside

On a beautiful evening

Warm but not hot

And beautiful outside

We were nearly halfway

But we stopped at the back

Throwing pooh sticks till I really had to go

"See you sometime?"

"maybe tomorrow"

"im free tomorrow,"

"me too"

"probably definitely see you tomorrow"

"I would really like that"

And the fullness in my belly felt ok
