"Anak, are you sure about this? Pwede ka naming bilhan ng bahay doon sa malapit na subdivision, you don't have to stay there," my mother said while packing my bags.
Although, wala naman ding problema kung sa boarding house, it's just that I want to experience the dorm life.
"Mom, I have been sheltered for 17 years. I don't have any friends other than Stella and Hunter. Gusto ko pong makakilala ng iba," I smiled at her as if reassuring her that I will be fine.
Pero gusto ko talagang mag-explore, I want to experience something new.
"Pero anak, dorm life isn't easy. You're not used to that kind of living," she said.
That's exactly why I want it. Perhaps that's also the reason why I chose a school that is miles away from my home. I want to be independent. I know many will think that I am unreasonable. I should act blessed as my parents pamper me and never allow me to do household chores. I would be a hypocrite if I said that I didn't enjoy it. But being in a routine bores me. I need to explore, and more importantly, I need to learn.
"Mom, I understand you. I really do. Besides, Stella will be there also. There's nothing to worry about, Mommy," I assured her.
Well, hindi ko naman siya masisisi, thankful pa nga ako kasi I have her.
"Okay, but please tell me if you need anything," she hugged me.
Dad came and picked up my bags, "Are you ready, Princess?" he smiled.
"Yes, Daddy," I said.
An hour later, we arrived at Central Luzon State University and went inside the Ladies Dorm. It is quite impressive because it has 4 double decks, is very spacious, there are 8 lockers, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a comfort room.
"Hi Stella. Kanina ka pa? Where are your parents?"
"Ay hindi po nila ko hinatid, I went here all by myself," she grinned.
Napairap ako. Sinungaling!
Mag-ingat kayo. Look for each other, okay?" Daddy said. We both nodded at nagpaalam na sa kanila.
Stella is on the other bed, ayaw niya daw kasi sa taas ng double deck.
But her life is not my story to tell, basta ang alam ko narito lang ako para sa kanya.
