I woke up and immediately felt a wave of regret wash over me. What did I do last night? I had gone out partying, but it wasn't all that bad, I thought to myself. I was surprised that I wasn't ashamed of how I had danced like someone else. But my thoughts quickly turned to Elliot. How was I going to face him on Monday? We had been grinding on the dance floor last night, and then he suddenly became pissed off. Was it because of something I did?

I couldn't shake the question out of my mind, but I decided to push it aside for now. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and I wanted to go for a jog to explore the city. I drank my usual black coffee and headed out, ready to start my mile.

I always preferred my coffee black, and I couldn't help but agree with the saying, "once you go black, you can never go back." Wearing my favorite jersey shorts and playing shoes, I jogged as if I was in training. I passed by some locals, greeting and waving to them as if I belonged there.

After jogging the coastline of Long Beach for an hour, I felt thirsty and decided to take a break. I sat on a bench and soaked up the sun's rays while catching my breath. I watched the locals interact with each other when someone sat beside me and handed me a bottle of water.

I looked up to see TJ, who was not looking in my direction. I couldn't help but blush as I recalled what happened between us last night. It wasn't because he was giving me water, but because he was half-naked and covered in sweat. The sun's rays reflecting off his sweat made him look even more manly. He smelled of sweat and something else, and I couldn't help but feel a little bit embarrassed.

I reached for the bottle and drank it as if I had never tasted water before. Was I that thirsty? Oh, God, I'm so embarrassing, I thought to myself.

"Thank you, TJ," I said, flashing him a genuine smile. I decided not to bring up what happened between us last night, even though I wanted to punch him for it.

He looked at me, and I noticed his cheeks turn coral pink. Was he blushing, or was it because of the heat? "Don't mention it," he said, his expression immediately changing to his usual poker face.

"So, do you usually run here?" I asked, trying to start a conversation. TJ nodded, "Yeah, every weekend."

I was amazed by his dedication to his body. Of course, he's an athlete, I thought to myself. "Oh, okay," I responded. I realized that I had misjudged him for an alcoholic.

"Do I have something on my chest?" he asked, smirking all the way. Was I that obvious? "Ju-just can you put some clothes on, please," I stuttered, feeling embarrassed. Hot guys shirtless were my weakness, and I couldn't help but stare.

He smiled while putting his shirt on, enjoying my discomfort. "So, I'm about to eat breakfast, wanna come?" he asked, sounding a bit flirty.

At least I had offered to come, I thought. I was feeling a bit hungry since I had only had coffee earlier. TJ then smirked as if I had said something amusing. "I won't mind if it's your treat," he said, shrugging.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course, duh," I said sarcastically, showing a little bit of attitude and sass to sound funny.

"Alright, come on, I know a place!" he said, winking at me. He urged me to follow him,

As I walked into the diner with TeeJhay, Vanjoe, our usual server, greeted us with his bro hand gestures. He turned to me, flashing a friendly smile. "What can I get you two?" he asked. I returned the smile, taking note that he was also wearing an apron, so he must be a cook here.

He seems like a cool guy, I thought to myself.

TeeJhay introduced me to Vanjoe, saying that he bumped into me at the park and invited me here for breakfast. Vanjoe took our order and told us to take a seat while he prepared our food. Since we were the only customers that morning, we chose to sit near the counter.

As Vanjoe prepared our order, TeeJhay made a playful comment about my choice of food. "Pancakes and hot chocolate, huh? No wonder you're so skinny," he said, smirking at me. I furrowed my brows. Was I really that skinny? I thought my body was just right.

"I'm too sexy to be skinny, you idiot," I retorted, hoping to convey some confidence.

TeeJhay laughed and responded, "But I like you skinny," teasing me once again. Memories of the party from last night flashed through my mind. I rolled my eyes, but he only chuckled at my reaction.

"I bet you do," I replied, trying to be seductive by slowly running my hand up my right leg. TeeJhay bit his lip, and I couldn't help but notice his reaction.

One thing I noticed about TeeJhay was that he always tried to be in control of the situation, using his flirtatious husky voice to make girls fall for him. But I wasn't buying it. Every time he tried to use his charm on me, I always had a comeback, leaving him flustered.

I smirked as I noticed that my seduction tactic seemed to be working on him. His jaw dropped, and I felt a sense of satisfaction. Moments later, Vanjoe served our orders. The food looked delicious! I noticed that the servings in America were always more than what you expected. The pancakes could have fed two people easily!

As we ate, TeeJhay and Vanjoe talked about volleyball, including upcoming games and their training program. I felt like I was starting to become friends with them.

"The food was amazing," I complimented Vanjoe, who beamed with happiness.

"Thanks, Apol!" he replied happily. TeeJhay smiled at us, observing our interaction.

After we finished, TeeJhay offered to walk me home, but I politely refused, not wanting to inconvenience him since he lived in the opposite direction. He asked for my number, so I gave it to him before we said our goodbyes.

When I arrived home, I greeted my parents and headed straight to my room. I felt exhausted from jogging earlier, so I decided to take a nap. I woke up at 3 p.m. feeling refreshed and checked my phone. I saw text messages from TeeJhay and my cousins.

Unknown Number: Hey, it's TJ. Thanks for earlier.

Of course, I saved his number and thanked him as well for introducing me to such a fine diner. We exchanged a few more messages that evening, just some casual chit-chat about our day and interests.

As the night went on, I realized I was getting pretty tired. I decided to call it a day and get some rest. I took a nice warm shower, put on my pajamas, and crawled into bed. I scrolled through my phone for a bit before setting it on my nightstand and closing my eyes.
