GET READY FOR WHAT SOME *coughs, Wesley* MIGHT CALL CRINGE, BUT ENJOY
•I heard him sigh, before a pair of arms slithered around my stomach. I physically yelled "yay!" Before laying into him. His laugh was the last thing I heard, as I fell asleep to the rhythm of his heart beat.•

•Finn's POV•
I woke up to someone kissing every inch of my face continuously. I laughed when I realized it was Millie, and I rolled her on top of me and kissed her gently. "What do you want to do today, Finnie?" She asked calmly."Hmmm, we could invite everyone over?" I said carelessly. She thought for a little while.
"Ooh! I have an idea!" I nodded for her to continue. "Me and you can go shopping for new stuff for you, so you don't have to keep using my father's. And then we'll invite everyone over and we can all go to my parents' lake house up north!" She yelled excitedly.
I didn't want her to spend her money on me, but I knew she wouldn't let up no matter what, so I agreed. She got out of bed and went over to her speaker and turned it on, playing "under the bridge" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I watched her sway to the music, and I decided to dance with her.
I put my hands on the small of her back and she laughed. "What're you doing?" She asked, putting her arms around my neck.
"Dancing. Dance with me," I said, before swaying with her to the vibrations bouncing off walls, flying through the room until it reaches our ears. I've always wondered about the speed of sound. How sound travels for hours or how it only travels for seconds. But how the speed of light travels forever and faster than anything in the universe.
"You're my light," I say quietly, resting my chin on her head. I breathed in the beautiful scent of her hair before hearing her answer.
"What do you mean?" She asked, curiosity lacing her tone, before softly laying the side of her face into my chest.
"Do you ever think about the speed of sound and light?" I answer her question with a question of my own. I felt her shake her head no.
"The fact that sound travels and is measured in distance, but light travels forever, and is measured in time. The fact that light never goes away because you wouldn't be able to see darkness if there wasn't light. The fact that the only reason you know what darkness is, is because you were given light first. The fact that though you had your light taken away, and the night comes around, the sun always shines again in the morning. You're my light," I answered, tears starting to build in my eyes.
"And sound. Well, sound is a wonderful thing. Have you ever thought about how no sound is the loudest sound you've ever heard? How when your light is taken away, and you're alone, you feel like everything and nothing is screaming at you and silent at the same time. Everyone always has they're favorite sound. A dog barking, thunder roaring. Mine's the sound of love. But I had never heard the sound of love until I met you. Love is a frequency and it radiates its own sound. And though people can't physically hear the sound, it leaves a feeling in the pit of your stomach. Butterflies, I'll call them. Man, they're a beautiful concept. I have you to thank for letting me feel butterflies." When I was finally finished, she raised her head and I could see the tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Love?" Was all she could get out, in her raspy and soft, morning voice.
"Ya, Mills, love. I love you," I said with a short laugh and smile. Her smile started small and got wider with each millisecond. <- hehe (Millie second)
"I-I love you too, Finn," She stuttered to get out, before closing the gap between our lips. I let myself sink deeper and deeper into the kiss. It was filled with so much passion and love, something we hadn't done before.
Sure our kisses were filled with passion, but we never felt the love. I had liked Millie since the day I met her. She was always intriguing to me. But I, of course, pushed her away. Terrible mistake, but I got her back.

"Ok, Finn, ready to get some new clothes?" Millie asked, more excited and preppy than me, and we're getting me clothes.
"Ya, I'm excited, but since we're at Starcourt, can we get scoops?" I asked, my mouth already watering for ice cream.
"Ooh, yes! My friends Steve and Robin work there!" Millie exclaimed excitedly. I laughed a bit at her excitement.
"Ya, Gaten took a job there yesterday, and he's working today. I know he's friends with Steve and Robin already," I said with a delighted smile. (I know I mixed st characters and the actors, it bothers me too, don't worry)
We got inside and walked quickly to Scoops, excited to see our friends. What we were met with turned our smiles even bigger and I had to keep Millie from squealing. Inside, sitting at a booth, was Maddie and Gaten, sharing a banana split.
I looked at the cash register to see Steve and Robin covering for Gaten. I fist-bumped Millie, and we decided to skip Scoops until after we were done shopping, so we didn't interrupt the date.
Millie ended up helping me pick out 6 pairs of sweatpants, a lot of sweatshirts, 7 t-shirts, 3 pairs of shorts, and 4 different colors of ripped jeans. "You know I'm probably going to end up stealing all of your sweatshirts and wearing them more than you, right?" She asked with a laugh as we made our way back to Scoops.
"Ya, that's why I let you get so many," I said, returning the laugh. We walked into Scoops and Millie ran to Robin and Steve and reunited with them while Gaten and I did our handshake.
"Steve, Robin, I'd like to introduce you to Finn. He's very important to me," she said with a smile. They shook my hand and we all talked in the back for a little while.
While we were about to leave, I turned to Gaten. "Come over after your shift, k?" I asked quickly. He nodded and I jogged to catch up with Millie.

"Ok, Maddie's mom has a huge Jeep with 8 seats. So we'll take that car. And boys, I have extra stuff for you to bring with you," Millie said, trying not to hurt the guys' feelings, even though I knew she wouldn't. They don't mind talking about that stuff out loud, it's not a burden to them as much as it was to me.
She brought everyone to the basement, with all her parents' clothes from the 80's. Remember those? Everyone gasped and looked through the clothes with smiles. Sadie, Maddie, and Grace even decided to pack some of the clothes, so the boys didn't feel isolated. Millie and I smiled at the sight.
We all even decided to wear an outfit out of the options for the trip itself. They were really colorful, something I'm not used to, but still had fun with.
Maddie went to get the Jeep and drove it back to Millie's house, as we sat in the living room and talked. When she finally got back, we all piled in. I sat next to Millie, Caleb and Sadie, Noah and Grace, and Maddie and Gaten sat up front.
It wasn't that long of a drive, just 2 hours. So everyone just either talked to each other or their couple, but Millie and I stayed talking to just each other for most of it. "How do you think they'll react when I tell them there's only one bed per room and only 4 rooms?" Millie said with a devilish grin and a small giggle.
My eyes widened before I spoke, "It's your funeral," I said, both of us burst out laughing at my words. Oh, Mills. I still love her no matter what.
Y'all, I'm honestly feeling like I shoulda named the book "the speed of sound" cuz ngl it sounds less cheesy and more unique. I'm an IDIOT. Anyways, yeet.
