Roni POV
Today we're leaving for North Carolina. The twins are back to their normal bubbly selves. They still have to take antibiotics so there's no chance of the virus coming back anytime soon. Now that they're not sick I've been having trouble getting them to take it. They say it tastes good but they don't want to sit down and take it. Aaron really has been taking really good care of the kids, especially when they're sick. Since they won't listen to me about the medicine he gives it to them. This morning Vinny wouldn't take it. I tried everything. I put in a syringe and in a spoon. I pretended it was an airplane or a train. I told him that Vi took it and that she felt so much better, but nothing worked. He just refused. Finally I gave up and asked Aaron for help. He took the syringe and pretended like he was giving Vinny shots on his body, which made him giggle. Aaron put the syringe up to Vinny's mouth but he just turned his head, then Aaron pretended to take it.
"Look dada will drink it" he said "yum it's sooooo good" Vinny looked at him still not convinced. "Even momma thinks it's good. Please try it for us"Vinny gets curious and wants to try it. Aaron pretends to fly the syringe into his mouth. He pushes the little piece and Vinny drinks all the medicine.
"See I told you it's good. Look at dada's little boy being a little man" Aaron says. I looked at the smile on both of their face and that's when I realized how much more I'm in love with him. It's just like when we first started dating. I love this feeling. The feeling of knowing that this person makes your whole life complete and that every thought in your mind has to do with them. It's an euphoric type of love. A love that happens a lot but you will absolutely know when it's for real. I'm so glad I found this feeling and a the real one because I wouldn't want to live any other way.
All the bags are packed and loaded in the car. That didn't take to long. The trip to the airport shouldn't take to long. We make sure to get there a little early because with LAX you never know. I can't count how many times something happens to our flight. We grab the kids some food because they were begging for the cake pops and pastries at Starbucks. They sit quietly as they eat. That's one of the only times they're quiet. We hear our gate number being called so we get in line to board and make it on the plane just in time. We're on the flights with the four seats. We put on a movie for the kids and they soon go to sleep after.
The six hour flight goes by fast. A couple of naps get us there. The twins are still asleep when we land so we carried them out. Surprisingly when we walk outside we see Andrew driving. I totally forgot he could drive. Time goes by fast.
"Your Uber is here" Andrew jokes.
"You got your drivers license and didn't tell me?!" Aaron says and pretends to be offended.
"You have to keep some element of surprise. You better hurry up and get in the car before I get a ticket, then I definitely won't be able drive" Andrew says. We load everything in the car and he starts driving.
"What else did you do since Christmas and kept it a secret?" Aaron asks
"Nothing much. I got a girlfriend or two but nothing severe" Andrew shrugs.
"OR TWO?!" Both Aaron and I say at the same time.
"Ya boy's a player" Andrew says and licks two of his fingers and smooths out his eyebrows.
"Ok Mr. Player. I heard about one of them and a little birdie told me that you were mopping around for a week after she broke up with you" Aaron teases
"I may have heard that too" I say from the backseat.
"Is this little birdie Malaya or Mom?" He asks
"The birds identity shall remain secret" Aaron says. Andrew rolls his eyes and and keeps going down the intersection towards the house. When we get there we're greeted by Malaya hugging us and Aaron's mom and dad coming outside. They give us a hug and we take the twins out. They immediately run up to them and cheer "Grandma! Grandpa!" They give them a big hug and they get swooped up and get kisses all over. We come inside and talk a little. Of course Aaron's mom made dinner even though we told her that it's ok and it's no need for her to go through all that work. We love her for that though. She has such a persistent attitude. I think that's where Aaron gets it from.
After dinner we talk for a little while but it's time for the twins to go to bed. We do our usual night routine and put them to sleep. Aaron and I get ready for bed to because we have to get up really early in the morning to board the flight. It's also Malaya's bed time so the whole house is kind of winding down. We say our good nights. When we go to say good night to Malaya she has something to say.
"Aunt Roni and Uncle Aaron I'm so glad you came. I missed you. Will you come back soon?" She asks. It melts my heart.
"Just for you we will" I say and give her kiss on the forehead.
"Goodnight princess Gorgeous" Aaron says and gives her another kiss on the forehead.
"Goodnight" she calls back. She grew up so fast too. I can believe that she's almost ten years old. I met her she was six. I can't believe I've been around that long. I'm glad I have. I don't know what I would do if I didn't.
