Chapter 50: Court Case

Here we go on this whirlwind of stress. It's the day of the whole court hearing situation. I personally think it's extra and so does Aaron. Why does she have the nerve to do something like this? It's just a whole process that's going to waste money and time for who ever loses. She should have thought about this when she accused him.

Aaron and I get ready in the morning and head to court. The twins are having a fun time with their aunt and uncles today while we get this whole thing situated. It take us thirty minutes to get there, fifteen minutes to have a meeting with a lawyer, ten minutes too swear on the Bible, and five minutes for people to get situated. That's a whole hour of our time wasted on stupidity. I sight as I sit back and wait for my turn to go up the the stand.

Angelina makes her statement. It's not a good one because she clearly doesn't know about the tape that Aaron made. I sit back and relax because now I know that this case is easily going to go in Aaron's favor. She climbs off the stand, giving Aaron and I little glance.

"Mr. Burris and the attorney my come up now" The judges booming voice states. Aaron gets up to the stand and swears on the Bible again, so does our attorney. She goes into her speech about whatever Angelina did. Then she pulls out the evidence. It's the paragraph that Aaron wrote to me. She reads it out. Angelina doesn't say a word. She knows that that's not solid evidence but what she doesn't know is that we have extremely strong evidence. I see the jury start scribbling something down as the paragraph is being read. I sigh.

Here comes the video. That's the key for this whole case. That's the thing that will tell the truth no matter how convincing the lie she's telling is. Speaking of her, I look at her when the video starts playing. Her jaw drops. She definitely didn't know this was being recorded. I feel like laughing out loud. This is the best revenge because she knows that she's caught in a lie and that whatever case she had is thrown out the window at this point.

The jury is going crazy on their papers. The case still isn't over yet but it might as well be. I get called to the stand. I swear to the Bible again. I tell my side of the story of text and not getting to call him in the morning. I almost restated the phone call word for word about the case and her claiming that he assaulted her by pushing her. They called me off the stand and I gladly leave. I can see the nervousness in her eyes. Aaron is just chilling, but not like those criminals that know they did it. He just knows that she didn't have good evidence compared to his.

Finally after twenty minutes the jury comes to the decision that he is not guilty. Angelina pretends to start crying. Crocodile tears flow down her cheeks. They order him to get a restraining order against her and she has to pay his and her court fees. I take a sigh of relief. Even though I knew that we had this in the bag, you never know how the court of law works. This time it showed justice. We finally make it home and we change out these uncomfortable business attire clothes.

I'm in my pajama pants and folding a towel that I had laying around when I feel his arms wrap around me. I hold his hands through the hug. He bends his neck down and kisses me from my temple to my collarbone.

"Thank you for sticking by me" He says. His voice is soothing. He's in a calm relax state. "Thank you for trusting. I couldn't dream for a better wife" I feel all warm in fuzzy inside.

"I would never leave your side. I'm so glad that I trusted you and and didn't rush to conclusions because you're the best person I could ever call my husband because you're so loyal and there's no reason not to trust you" We stand like the for awhile. We cuddled up to each other as we take a nap. We're both exhausted from a long week and right now this is the best feeling ever. I haven't seen him and two weeks and it feels so good to be snuggled up against him just relaxing. I make sure to wrap my arms around him so he knows I'm there. I know he missed and it feels so good to have my whole body submerge with him. I see a little smile in his face when I wrap my arms around him. I bury my head in his chest and drift off to sleep.

I wake up still cuddled up the Aaron. Kian, Nessa, Alex and the kids must be back because I hear the playing downstairs. I stretch and slip out of Aaron's embrace. I move carefully so he can sleep longer. Vi and Vinny give me a run down of their whole day. I whole heartedly listen. They do the same when Aaron wakes up and comes down to join. Nessa winks at me a looks at Aaron then looks back at me and starts doing the kissing thing. I took my eyes.

"You're nasty" I say "We took a nap"

"So that's what we're calling it now" She teases. I laugh her off and keep playing with all the kids. When Aaron comes to sit down they ask him non-stop questions about being a movie star and staying in New York. He gives them the answers. He honestly makes me so happy when I see him playing with kids. It's one of the most cute and attractive things. He genuinely listens to them and cares. I don't know how I went two weeks without this.
