Chapter 49: Back Home

Aaron POV
Amidst all of this happening I have a flight back home. I hate that I had to come back because of this but at least I get to see my family and I get to have an intermission between filming. I try to look on the bright side of things. None of the media knows about any of the stuff that's happening so that's not weighing me down and I can kinda relax after this court case tomorrow. I don't have to be in New York again until next week depending on the outcome of this case, so that gives me at least three days at home. In one of those three days, Trueimg's store is having their grand opening. I'm so glad I'm going to be here to support Roni and Nessa.

I hop in the flight and put in my AirPods. I just want to be relieved of all stress so I don't worry about editing. I just watch some videos, play some games, listen to some music, and nap. It almost felt therapeutic to get away from so much action.

When I get off the plane, I could almost kiss the ground. I'm so happy to see this LAX airport. Even the busy LA traffic doesn't bother me as I get into the Uber. I would've asked Kian, Roni, Alex, or Nessa to pick me up but wanted it to be a surprise. They've been under enough stress so I think they're due for a surprise.

I'm finally home after a long trip from the airport. I walk up the step and ring the doorbell. Kian opens the door.

"Best friend!" He yells. We do our little hand shake and and he pulls me into a hug.

"Missed you man" he says

"I missed my basketball buddy to" I say.

"I'm going to beat you so bad when we get back on that court"

"Just cause I haven't played in two weeks doesn't mean that I can't still break you ankles" I say and place my bag down. Nessa come down stairs to see what the noise is all about.

"Yay, my second favorite Burriss brother is back!" She says and gives me a hug.

"Hey!" Alex says as he comes from walking Moose.

"Don't worry, you're not my favorite either. Andrew takes that spot" she teases. Alex rolls his eyes.

"You're back big brother!" He says when he finally acknowledges me.

"Duh, Captain obvious" I say. I give him a hug and Moose is scratching at my feet.

"I missed you" he says

"I guess I missed you too" I respond.

"Did anyone get the do-" Roni starts to say when she walk downstairs with the twins following behind her. Then she sees me and stops dead in her tracks.

"Surprise?" I say. I see her grin. Before I can hug her the twins run up to me.

"Dada!" They both cheer. I swoop them up and give them both a big hug and tons of kisses. I've missed them so much. FaceTime did no justice to the amount joy it brings me to see their faces and to hug them. Roni comes closer and gives me a hug. FaceTime definitely didn't do justice to this either. I give her kiss.

"Gross!" Rebel says.

"Get a room guys!" Alex says and teases. Kian and Nessa pretend to throw up. Roni and I both flip them off. It's rare behavior for us but eh. The one thing we do make sure to do is to hide of finger from the kids. We don't need them running around the house, daycare, or anywhere sticking their middle fingers up at people.

"Rude" Kian holds his chest and pretends to be offended.

"So , how was New York?" Roni asks to change the subject.

"It's was good after I got used to it. Obviously there were some low moments but it was ok. I met some new friends and the whole movie filming thing is pretty cool to see"

"Dada, can we go?" Vinny asks

"Actually, that was my last surprise. Management says that they can pay to fly you guys out and back if you want. There's plenty of room in the condo"

"Why would we ever pass up an opportunity to go to New York?" Alex questions

"You guys can come two days after I go back and leave after a week. That'll give you a day to catch up with stuff before the baby shower" Everyone looks at Roni. She has everything planned out so this is kind of leaning on her.

"I don't see why not" She says and shrugs.

"Yay!" All the kids cheer. They start chanting New York over and over. We send them outside to play. We just enjoy the rest of the day at home and relax. Of course I know tomorrow is going to be stressful with this court case but I'm here to enjoy my time with family. I knew I would be busy so this is no shock but I just want to push everything aside and have a very small vacation. Not stressing things really works out in situations like this because the less a stress, the more time I get to spend with my family and that time is if the essence. It's not everyday that we're all in the same house, at the same time, with free time, and not busy, so let's enjoy the moments that we do have like that do we won't look back and wish we did. That's something that I regret doing with Gray. I wish we had've hung out more and spent more time together because now that will never happen and it's sad. I'll never get the chance to experience that ever again. I don't want to think about anything like that happening to me or my family so I live life to the fullest because life waits for no one and I'm not going to let it just pass me by.
