Aaron POV
I'm exhausted from work. We had an extra long set run. It was hard work. No one has updated me if they left from LA or not. It doesn't look like they left yet, so it doesn't look like they're going to make it anytime soon.
I take a group Uber with some of my coworkers back to our condos. I unlock my door and drop my bag.
"Surprise!" Everyone says as they jump out from the dark. I jump a little.
"I feel betrayed" I say after turning all the lights on. "No one told me anything about your flight coming in!" I tell all of them
"That's the point. It's a surprise" Alex says matter of factly. I roll my eyes at me. The twins go to give me a hug when they back away. They look scared. I forgot I had the explosion makeup from on set on.
"Let me go shower, and I'll be right back" I say. I'm not so tired from work any more. That was a pleasant surprise that really woke me up. I'm so glad that they made it. It really gives me something to look forward to when I get off of work and maybe I won't be so tired.
I'm al showered and dressed. I come back to the living room where everyone is.
"How long have guys been here?" I ask
"Not long, maybe an hour and thirty minutes before you got here" Roni says.
"It was nice to see New York again" Kian says "LA looks so small compared to it"
"It really does" Nessa adds. The twins crawl in my lap and the other kids surround me as they tell me about their trip here and how cool it is here. They're really excited to be here.
"Let's give Uncle Aaron a break" Nessa says.
"They're fine, but I bet they're hungry" I say. I look at the kids and they nod their heads yes.
"They aren't the only ones" Alex adds.
"Let's see what's yelp recommends to eat" Roni says.
"Don't go to the pizza place that's closed to here. It's sucks." I complain.
"Alright, I'll cut that off our list" she responds. We go through a couple more restaurants until we settle on some five star rated bbq place.
We get back in the rented car and the kids a glued back to the window. They are super infatuated with everything. I tour them of places as they ask. The traffic out here is so much like LA's, so it moves slow. That gives the kids plenty of time to sight see from the car.
We have a nice dinner and grab some cookie dough at a place that serves edible cookie dough. It's super famous and the girls had us take so many boomerangs and pictures of it. The line is always wrapped around the building so their Instagram page is always full of tags. They get a lot of popularity and it's not a bad idea to open a store like that. I'm pretty sure that they get a lot of money and I'm not going to lie, it's worth the hype. That cookie dough was so good.
We stay out until it's about to get dark. We take a trip to Times Square. This is where the kids are mesmerized. It's so many people and things to see. It's a little overwhelming. We make sure we keep a tight hold on them for that very reason. There's so many people out here and it's starting to get dark, it'll be so easy to lose them. That's the last thing that we'd want to do.
We finish up our nightly adventures and go back to the condo. Of course the kids are not wanting to go to bed. We make them bathe and they still don't want to go to sleep. We settle on watching movies until they're tired.
We we're almost done with the first movie when Vi goes to sleep. She's always the first. In increments all the kids start to fall asleep. We knew they were actually tired, but we also knew they didn't want to miss out on anything and that's why they didn't want to go to sleep. Once they saw that nothing was happening and the first kid went to sleep they realized that it was ok for them to go to sleep. It happens every time they're excited about a day.
All the adults get ready for bed. We have two bedrooms. Kian and Nessa take one and Roni and I take one. Everyone immediately offered their room to Nessa because she pregnant. Roni and I both tried to offer Alex our room, but he didn't take it. He said that since there is two of us, it made more since for us to sleep on the bed. The kids are all taken care of with sleeping arrangements. They made themselves a fort because they were bored. Now they have a perfect place to sleep. Asher is always taken care of with his portable crib, so everyone's good.
I get into the bed after a long, but great day. Roni snuggles up and hugs me under the covers.
"I'm going to savor this week" She says.
"I am too" I get closer to her. I'm so glad that they came. It made my whole day better and I'm sure it's going to make my whole week better. It's great to do this because recently I feel like we've been to busy for each other and I hate that. I never want to feel like that. Hopefully this helps because it hard with us both having extremely hands on jobs and being busy twenty four seven. I really want to spend more time with her and the kids and take care of the kids more so that she can get a break, but that's not in the agenda. It's so hard for me to that even though it's my top priority. Hopefully this pleasant surprise works out.
It's been awhile. Holidays and school have me wrapped up. I promise I'm working on it 😭
