Chapter 48: Allegations

Roni POV
I didn't get a call from Aaron last night, which is ok because he was probably just busy. I know how stressful it is to film so that's probably why. I don't stress anything until I check my phone. I see that he sent me a video and a long paragraph. I open my messages to read the the paragraph. He gives me a rundown on how one of his coworkers is making him uncomfortable with her constant flirting and how he didn't want it to seem like he was cheating on me with her. I didn't se the big deal in it. I mean it was a little unsettling but as long as he wasn't cheating, then I had nothing to worry about. The main problem is that she was making him feel uncomfortable. That needs to stop. I watch the video to see exactly what he's talking about. It start off ok, then I see some warning signs. Aaron doesn't want his friend to leave because he doesn't want to be alone. That's a common sign of sexual harassment. A lot of other stuff stands out. Even if I didn't have the background information, I could have figured this out through context clues. Anyone can see that he's uncomfortable. She start flirting and getting touchy and that when he manages to kick her out. I sigh. At least she out. I'm going to give him a call to see how he's feeling.

Aaron picks up his phone after just two rings.

"Roni, listen I was just trying to get her out. Nothing happened between us" He says really fast

"Don't worry baby, I know nothing happened. I saw the whole footage. I just wanted to call you and make sure you were ok" I say

"Actually I'm not. I'm not at work today because she threatened to call the police because I shoved her and you can see it on the hotel hallway camera. They have to do a whole investigation on it" He says. I gasp. I feel my blood start to boil. She was the one in the wrong, not him. "I called the lawyer already and gave him a rundown and sent him the footage. The police are looking over it now." He says.

"Ok, you're in good hands. I know our lawyer and the police can sort this out, so just lay low and relax. I just want you to know that I'm not mad at you and even if everyone else thinks you did something wrong, I'll always know that you were the one in the right ok. I know everything is going to be just fine" I tell him

"I hope so. Love you and bye"

"Love you too" I hang up. I put the phone down and shake my head. How could she accuse him like that? Does she know that she could ruin his career? Is that why she did it, to get revenge? Does she even know about the recording? When she did find out about it was she shocked? Now that there's proof that she's wrong will she take the statement back? When's the next time I'll hear from Aaron again? Will the media get word of this? How is Aaron really feeling right now? So many unanswered questions that really need an answer. Until I get them I have to move on with the day.

I have to tell Alex, Nessa, and Kian. I can't let that slide past them. I show all of them the video and the text and explain that she tried to blame him for all of it. They were livid.

"Does she know how much trouble he could've gotten in?!" Nessa says

"Why the fuck would she do that?!" Kian asks

"What's going to happen to Aaron?" Alex asks.

"These are all questions I can't answer right now. I was just as shocked as you were but I had to let you guys know. We're just going to have to wait it out and see what happens. He's lawyered you and the police are involved. The last time I talked to him, he said that the police were going to review it. We're just going to have to wait it out." I respond to all theist questions at once.

We were all on edge for the rest of the day. No one could believe that someone would lie on him like that. We all know Aaron would never hurt someone unless he really had to. He didn't even push her that hard so I don't see the big deal. It's really frustrating.

Finally after a day of questions and problems, we get a call from our lawyer. I put him on speaker phone so that Alex, Kian, and Nessa can all hear it.

"Hello?" I say

"Hi Veronica, this is your lawyer. I just called to say that we've sorted things out. Aaron will be coming home in two days. There will be a court case but right now it doesn't look like he's in the wrong. I'm going to keep fighting but it looks like this case is in our hands. We have to keep quiet about this. The movie directors don't want any of this until the movie is out of theaters. All scenes that needed to be shot with Angelina were shot. I think that the movie production would still go smooth so nothing should change with that. You guys are good to go." He says. I take a deep breath of relief.

"Thank you so much. You don't know the amount of weight that has been lifted off of our shoulders" I reply. We exchange a few more words. Aaron calls to let us know he's ok and that he'll be home soon. I know that it's not completely over but I'm confident that at least this one won't come crashing down. At least I can sleep sort of easy tonight and I can tell the twins that dada will be home soon.
