Chapter 31: No Rules

Aaron POV
The girls are getting ready to go out of town for New York fashion week. That leaves Kian, Alex, and I in charge of the house. We already helped them load their luggage in the Uber.

"You know that Vi is picky about her food, Vinny is adventurous so keep an eye on him, I have preplanned outf-" Roni says before I leave.

"Relax, I got this. They're my kids too. I promise you I know how to take care of them." I reassure her. I can hear Nessa saying something similar to Kian. "Go have fun. Take a break. We'll call you every afternoon. I promise that the house and the kids will both be alive and well when you come back."

"Ok I trust you" She says. I give her a kiss. Vi and Vinny give her a big hug and a kiss and wish her goodbye. She looks sad. She always has a hard time leaving them. I do too.

We watch the twins get into the Uber. As soon as we close the door the kids look at each other. They know when it's just us they have very little rules and they have a lot of fun.

"Ok meeting time" Alex says. We all come in the living room and sit down.

"What do we want to do today?" I ask.

"I wanna bounce" Vinny says and bounces on his butt.

"Adding trampoline to our list" Kian says

"I wanna go swimming in a ball pit" Adrian says

"Fun" Rebel says

"Alex and I are masters in making ball pits" I say

"Let's take a quick store trip and start our adventures" Alex says. We all get in the car and head to the store. We get gates and stuff to make walls for the ball pit. Kian has the idea to put two trampoline together. Our back yard is fairly large so it will fit in the back corner closest the wall and fence. We're thinking about adding a foam pit. Why not? We get all the stuff to make that at the hardware store and we start working when we get back home. Everyone's helping and we vlog the whole thing. I get the camera before we start.

"Ok guys, Kian, Alex, and I are all vlogging. I'm sure you know that the girls are out of town and I'm sure they'll have something from a New York to show you guys. This will probably be out today or tomorrow but we have a surprise. Look." I say and turn the camera to behind me. " I know it just looks like boxes right now, but we're going to put a trampoline attached to another one and put it up here. We're going to build a foam pit that attaches to it. In one of the up stairs rooms that we don't use, we're going to build a ball pit. If you've been with us since our old days then you would now that we've done that many times before" I say. "I'm going to place you guys here and make a time lapse of us working. You might see Vinny's feet dangling over the lens and that's because the camera is right under his chair,
but don't mind it" I place the camera where I had it before and we start building. The kids help a little bit play around a lot. We remove the netting from around the trampolines and make them almost like a shower curtain rod, so that it's easier for the kids to get in and out. I start working on the foam pit. It's fairly easy. It's just a net held up by pvc pipes. I fill it up with foam chunks and barricade the sharp ends with pool noodles. We make the ball pit and it's all finished.

"Ok, it's all finished! Take a look" I say. I'm going to voice over a little montage of all the kids playing and Kian and Alex playing. They look like little kids too. It makes me crack up. The kids are having the time of their lives though. Their flipping into the foam pit and jumping. We even let Moose and Guppy jump in the trampoline with us. They were scared at first but once they got the hang of they're just as happy as the kids.

Once it starts to get dark we go inside to have dinner. Right after we let their food digest, the kids run up stairs and jump into the ball pit. They're swimming around in it like a pool. They start a fake snowball fight with the balls. They're just having a fun time. What's wrong with that? Once they're all out we give them baths and lay them down for bedtime. We let them stay up an extra thirty minutes after their bedtime. I text Roni good night because I know I'll be asleep by the time she's able to call me. Kian, Alex, and I work on cleaning up the house. We know that the girls are still going to flip even if the house is clean but we still wanna make sure that we have a good place to live in, because right now it looks like a trash toys-r-us. That would make the girls go berserk if they saw that. We finish up the basketball game that we recorded because we missed it and then we call it a night.

I'm exhausted. Building, playing, and taking care of kids really wears you out. I make sure that I go to sleep early because tomorrow is going to be another day of adventures. I'm honestly glad that I get to spend this time because I'm going to be super busy later and I'm going to miss this. I don't wanna miss everything in my kids lives or crucial moments at home so I try to get it all I can right now. I'm glad that I got to see them have fun today though. I'm also glad that today was care free because we had no rules.
