(This song is sung mostly in Korean, but if you watch the subtitles before or after you will see why I chose this song to listen to while reading this chapter).
Soda and I jump up from kneeling on the ground, my legs going numb from the blood rushing back down to my calves and feet.
My heart seemed to have been shoved back inside of my chest because I could feel it and hear it's insane drumming getting faster and louder by the second.
"Nurse!" I yell rushing over to the door and throwing it open.
"Nurse!" I yell even louder into the dark empty hallway.
I couldn't hear any footsteps or see any nurses or doctors rushing over.
"Soda no one's coming!" I yell panicked as I rush back to Dallas who's chest stopped beating.
Hot tears poured down my face as I stared down at a dying Dallas.
I don't know what came over me, but all of a sudden I found myself ripping Dally's hospital gown to expose his chest.
I looked down in horror as I saw his white bandage turning deep red.
I take my trembling hands, place one on top of the other, place them on Dally's chest, and start pushing.
My whole body was numb and I was surprised that I could even move, "Soda!" I yell looking at him to get his butt over here.
He rushed over to me wide eyed.
"I need you to take off his bandage and wrap a new one around it" I tell him, my voice full of fear and hurt, he nodded his head and raced to a cabinet to try and find clean bandages.
I pressed harder onto his chest feeling a sweat take over my stiff body, "Soda hurry up!" I yell frantically trying to get his heart to beat again, to hear him breath one last time, to see his chest rise.
"Can't I go get the nurses?" he asked just as frightened as I was, "don't you think I tried that? There's no one there! Plus it's to late, we need to do this now, so hURRy" I yell my voice cracking.
He must've found some bandages because he came back and started to remove the old ones which were now drenched with hot deep red blood.
"Oh no" I hear Soda mumble as almost a whisper as he looks down at the blood looking awfully pale.
"NO! You are not fainting! One of your brothers is dying!" I yell angrily as I look at Soda struggling to stand on his feet.
"Soda!" I yell as I continue to pump on his muscular chest.
He took a few deep breaths and finally returned to normal, his cheeks turning to the normal shade of pink.
His muscle was making it hard to pump, and my arms were growing sore, but that only made me pump harder.
"You better wake up Dallas Winston! Ya hear! You better wake up right now!" I scream over the loud flatline, as I pound harder into his chest, my tears falling onto his exposed chest which Soda was currently wrapping.
"Please! Don't leave me!" I yell, my voice hoarse.
I got shivers throughout my body when I felt a gust of wind on my arm.
I continue to pump as I look up to see his nostrils flaring and hear the steady beeping of the heart monitor.
I pump one more time and release to see that his chest was moving on it's own, and that his heart rate has returned to normal.
Soda finished with the bandage.
I stand in complete and utter shock. Not taking my eyes off of Dallas... that is until I hear footsteps come running in.
I jolt around behind me to see that a nurse had finally made her way up to the room.
One.
One single nurse.
"What did I miss?" she asks calmly as if the guy on this hospital bed didn't just die and get brought back to life all the while he was bleeding out.
"You're his nurse?" I ask bitterly.
She nods her head yes.
My hands form into a tight fist as my face grew with heat and pure anger.
"Gracie.." I hear Soda's voice trying to stop me from what I am about to do, but there was no changing my mind.
I pulled my arm back and swung it as hard as I could into the ladies face.
I heard a cracking noise as my fist connected with her nose.
She let out a gasp as she fell backwards.
Her hand went to clutch her nose in pain as it started gushing out blood.
"Are you crazy!" she yells as she tries to stand up from the blow she just received, "a little" I respond sourly.
She scoffed and ran off, hand grasped onto her broken nose.
I would have broken a lot more than that if it weren't for the state of shock I was still in.
"You'll be lucky if she doesn't bring the cops in! Why did you do that?" Soda asked still shock, "I'll just explain to the officers on how she attacked me first. I have a witness after all" I say as I look over to Soda who just rolled his eyes at me.
"You just saved Dallas" he said as the tears in his eyes started to fall.
I rushed over to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulder and walked him over to the two empty seats by Dally's hospital bed.
"We saved Dallas" I told him as I let out even more tears.
My heart didn't calm down, and I don't think it will ever be able to again after witnessing that.
I pull my chair closer to Dally and I grab his hand and intertwine it with mine.
I place my head down onto the empty space by his bed and let my loud sobs fill the room hoping the sheets and mattress will muffle them.
Soda was now the one rushing over to me, pulling his chair along behind him.
I continue to sob and suffocate myself in the sheets.
I looked up and sniffled wiping away my tears with my sleeve that had some of the nurses blood on it.
I could feel Soda's concerned glare on me as I stared down Dallas's features.
"You better not die on us again"I tell him trying not to break down again.
"Gracie, we should get some rest" Soda says as he gets up from his chair and walks over towards the door.
I look over at him as I stayed seated.
"Gracie come on. We're no good to him tired and traumatized" he says, "I'm staying here" I say firmly as I tighten my grip on Dally's hand.
I take a deep breath and lock eyes with a watery eyed Soda.
"I thought of him as an enemy. I looked at him as if he were pathetic, until I realized... I love him"
