Puck and Finn walked into the empty classroom and took seats at the tables. "What's up?"
Mercedes and Quinn looked at each other. Their plan was flimsy at best but it was the last resort. "We have something to tell you."
"What is it?" Finn set his books in front of him.
Quinn looked at Mercedes and they had a silent conversation on who was going first. Quinn prodded her so she sighed and took the necklace from around her neck. "What is this?"
"A ring?" Finn's face scrunched.
Mercedes undid the clasp and slid the ring off and put it on her hand. Quinn did the same. "They're engagement rings."
"Engagement rings?!" Puck echoed. "Like when you get married?!"
"Yes. We need you to marry us."
Puck and Finn were stuck. "What?!"
"We need you to marry us." Quinn stated again. Clearly.
Puck's jaw dropped and he had trouble pulling air into his mouth.
Finn's eyes were extra large and he kept swallowing.
"I think we broke them." Mercedes whispered.
Quinn pursed her lips as she nodded. She took a deep breath. "You can be shocked later but we need an answer now!"
"Why?!" Finn's voice was small and breathy.
"Our fathers are making us marry. We sort of signed a legally binding contract to marry if we have sex before our wedding night and we all know we broke that clause so we need to get married."
"They're making you marry us? My mom is going to be pissed." Finn ran a hand through his hair.
"No, our parents want us to marry each other."
"But you can't do that. Can you?" Finn looked to Puck, who suddenly snapped out of it.
"Is this a joke?" Puck demanded.
"Do we look like we're laughing?" Quinn snapped.
"Your parents can't make you get married! Especially to a girl!"
"We're marrying Mikey in India, where it's legal, idiot." She glared at him. "And yes, they can. They're our parents and whatever they say goes. Unless you stop being a huge baby and marry us."
"When?" Finn wrung his hands together.
"As soon as possible. Like today. We found a chapel that'll marry anyone with the cash. We have the money. We just need you."
"Please, Noah?" Mercedes begged.
"Mama, this is a lot!" Puck ran a hand over his face. "I can't deal with this." He got up and left.
"Finn." Quinn looked at him.
"I can't. I just can't. I'm sorry." Finn walked out.
Quinn turned to a silently crying Mercedes. "Forget them! Mikey will be a better husband than either of them anyway!"
Mercedes nodded slowly. "I guess we have a wedding to plan."
