Marcy stopped in front of the emergency. "Dex, go get a wheelchair. Yuria, help Jackie out. Tell them she's in labor. I'll be right in."
The duo did as she said.
Yuria helped Jackie out as Dexter went to get a wheelchair. Marcy went to go park. She came back to see Dexter freaking out, Jackie crying and Yuria very silent.
Marcy sighed as the staff looked at them like they were crazy. "Hey!" Everyone shut up. "She's in labor and needs a room."
A nurse handed Marcy a clipboard of paperwork. "Fill this out please as we take her up to the maternity ward."
They all went upstairs as Marcy filled out the paperwork. She remembered how it would go from June but she'd made Jackie tell her the answers before this point so she could do this very thing.
Dexter helped Jackie change into a hospital gown and get back into bed. "Are you okay?"
"Dex, I'm scared." Jackie was terrified of pain and her first contraction scared the hell out of her.
He rubbed her stomach gently. "It's going to be okay. I'm here for you."
She loved him so much.
Yuria took Marcy's hand. "I can't believe I'm seeing this."
"It's a trip. Believe me." Marcy patted her hand.
W.W.W.
Jackie felt so much better after her epidural. She was floating sky high. "Will you braid my hair, MA?"
"Sure." Marcy had had her hair braided when she was in labor, too. She'd also had a pedicure.
Jackie let Marcy give her two fishtail braids. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Marcy moved. "Anything else?"
"More ice please."
"You got it."
W.W.W.
"You got this!" Dexter yelled, far from his normally unflappable self.
Jackie pushed, sweating profusely and gritting her teeth. "Ah!"
Marcy rubbed her back as Jackie's mother, Mrs. Hernandez and Dexter's mother, Mrs. Williamson shouted encouragement.
Jackie breathed deeply as she took a break. "I can't do this!"
"Yes, you can." Marcy spoke low and slow. "Look at Dex. Tell me he doesn't believe in you. He loves you more than anything but you've got to do this. Hold his hand and believe."
Jackie gripped her boyfriend's hand and looked into his brown eyes.
W.W.W.
Jackie stared at her daughter with a sense of awe. "She's so perfect."
Dexter was enthralled with his baby as well. "Hi, Dya."
Dya Williamson looked exactly like her mother but was as calm as her father. Everyone loved her already.
Marcy smirked as the baby looked at all these new people around her. "Hi, baby girl. Welcome to the world."
