Marcy climbed back in the bed and leaned over Mal. She'd just finished throwing up then doing her morning abultions before coming back to kiss him awake.

He stirred. "Hey."

His deep voice made her shiver. "Happy birthday."

He smiled. "Thank you, baby."

"I have a little bit of energy. Want to fool around?"

He chuckled. "I'll never turn you down."

She giggled as he rolled over atop her.

"Happy birthday, daddy!" Dr. Reynolds smiled at Mal.

Mal grinned. "Thanks, Doc."

"So you're how old now?"

"Seventeen!" Mal was happy.

The doctor shook his head. He remembered being seventeen. He didn't have near the responsibilities as this young man.

Marcy kicked her feet slowly. "That's cute that you're having an intense connection but pregnant woman wants to see her babies."

Both men blushed before coming over to her. Mal took her hand as Dr. Reynolds squirted jelly on her exposed belly. He turned on the ultrasound machine and used the wand to spread the gel. "Hmm."

"Is that bad?" She worried.

"Oh. No. They're coming along nicely."

Mal and Marcy smiled at each other, relieved.

"Would you like to listen to the heartbeats?"

Both nodded excitedly.

He flipped a switch and four heartbeats were heard.

Marcy felt herself get emotional.

Mal was right behind her.

"Would you like photos?" The obstetrician asked.

Marcy beamed. "Yes please!"

Mal switched between the sonograms. "Are we sending any out?"

"Yeah, we can drop this one off to Mother and Father, this one to Ms. Judy and this one to Daddy."

"What about our siblings?"

"We can copy this one and send it in the mail."

"You're sixteen weeks. Don't you want to tell people now?" He set the black and whites down.

She looked up at him. "Laura and Marc are still basking in the glow of telling everyone."

"I know but I want to talk about our babies, too."

"Next month, I'll be 20 weeks and we can see genders. We'll tell people then."

"Promise?"

She kissed his chin, even though they were in a crowded restaurant. "Promise."
