"Daddy?" Marcy's voice was very serious. "I need your help."
Marcus nodded, even though he knew his daughter couldn't see him. "Of course, Sweetpea. What do you need?"
"We should talk in person."
He paled. "Okay. I'll go home. I'll meet you there."
"Thank you, Daddy." She hung up.
He looked at his phone in growing fear. That could not be good.
W.W.W.
Marcy waited as Marcus silently ruminated on the information she had just given him.
He stayed quiet for a few more moments before nodding resolutely. "I will help you."
She exploded in happiness. "Thank you, Daddy!"
He stopped her from hugging him. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"I just wanted Yuria to relax and feel safe. Honestly I'm surprised her parents care she ran away."
He shook his head. "I want to meet this young lady before I challenge her parents for guardianship."
"Okay. She's the sweetest person. She's like Mercy."
Marcus smiled. "Well then I'm sure I'll like her."
W.W.W.
Marcy drove back home, happy things had gone well. Her phone began ringing so she had Yuria look at it.
"It's someone named Jack." The newly turned sixteen year old commented.
"Answer it."
Yuria answered. "Hello? Marceline Anne's phone."
Marcy waited for her to say something else but she didn't so she risked a peek at her. She was white as a sheet. "Yuri? Is she okay?"
Yuria faced her. "She's in labor."
