english love affair // 5 seconds of summer

finn & millie (au)
part 1It all started on a weekend in May. Finn and his band had been playing shows all throughout London for a good two weeks and it had truly been the best experience of their lives. They had been looking forward to playing in the UK for so long and now that they had finally made it, it all felt like a dream.
Playing sold out shows almost every single night, taking in the city, meeting new people. It was all too good to be true for the twenty-something year old musicians and they were loving every second of it.
Like most nights when they didn't have a show to play, they spent their time at some of the places they had quickly grown to love.
Given the length of time they had been abroad, the group had certain spots they favored over others and wanted to visit as much as possible.
This night in particular, they were at Joe's, a small club tucked away down in a dark alley. It wasn't near as sketchy as it seemed, in fact, they loved it. The people there served as great company and always showed them a good time.
The place wasn't too crowded, seeing as it was a Thursday night, so Finn was one of the few actually seated at the bar area. He had been there for awhile, alone with his tequila. He had come with his band mates, but they all ventured off to pursue their own forms of entertainment.
He didn't mind it though, he was too consumed in his overwhelming thoughts to be sociable, with the exception of the meaningless conversation he had with the stranger next to him after he had so generously paid for their two rounds of shots.
While he had been having a grand time in the city, he was still waiting for something, something he had been hoping to have already come across.
Finn was looking for attention, desperate for it even. Despite the fact that he usually got plenty of it performing up on stage, he was searching for something different. He wanted attention from someone who didn't care who he was. Someone who didn't care that he was Finn Wolfhard, lead singer of a well known, but still very underrated band.
He typically got plenty of offers from his fans, but that wasn't what he wanted. While he found it to be awfully flattering, having to go on dates with women who only wanted to talk about his fame was rather exhausting. He just wanted someone who had no clue who he was.
Finn threw back another shot, drowning out all those irritating thoughts.
He mindlessly watched the bartender whip up another cocktail, until he felt like someone was looking at him. He could just feel the overwhelming presence of someone's eyes boring into him.
He didn't want to look, not wanting to have to face them awkwardly after having caught them staring. In the end though, his curiosity got the best of him and he gave in, looking off to his side and sure enough, he was right.
At the end of the bar just a few seats down, sat the most breathtaking woman he'd ever seen.
From what he could tell, she had dark hair pulled back from her face, giving him the perfect view of her beautiful features. She wore a dress that brightly shimmered when the lights hit it just right. Most importantly though, she was staring at him, with the most seductive grin on her face.
