mike & el
halloween: part 3Eventually, the four had grown tired of sitting around the fire, so they did their best to put out the flames and headed back to the house.
It was also nearing 10 o'clock, so they wanted to get the movies going before it got too late.
As soon as they'd returned to the basement, Dustin wasted no time in expressing his current state of discomfort.
"I have to get this damn wig off! I'm sweating like a pig under this thing! El, can you help me out here?"
El took one look at the slightly damp wig on his head and backed away. "Sorry, but I don't really wanna touch your sweat."
All she could do was scrunch her nose up, making Dustin huff out a breath.
Mike and Lucas couldn't help but bust out into a fit of laughter over her reaction. Usually El was the one willing to help anyone do anything, so her denying Dustin of her help because he was too sweaty, was absolutely priceless to them.
"You guys are no help!" He whined, before disappearing off into the bathroom to do it himself.
And as discussed before they came inside, Mike and El went upstairs to get changed and make the popcorn, while Lucas got the movie ready.
Mike led El into the kitchen, where they found his mom putting away dishes. She didn't notice their presence until she shut the cabinet door that had been blocking her view.
"Oh, there you two are!" Karen cheerfully spoke, throwing her dish towel on the counter. "I was hoping I'd get to see you in your costumes!"
Mike groaned instantly, knowing that she was about to ask them a bunch of questions and they'd never get out of there.
"El, how are you honey?" She asked, while coming over to give her a hug.
El returned the kind gesture, then politely smiled back at her. "I'm good!"
"Did you all have fun tonight?"
"Yes, we had a lot of fun!" El nodded, looking over at Mike as she did so, which made him start to nod along with her.
"Mom, can you make us some popcorn?" Mike asked, figuring that if she was still awake and in the kitchen, then she could just do it for them.
"Sure, honey! Let me take pictures of you two in your costumes first!"
"Mom! No. We've been in them all night and they're getting kinda hot." He told her, trying to get them out of it, but his resistance didn't last too much longer.
El had looked up at him, with her eyes practically begging him to do it. She wanted to have pictures of them, anything that would serve as a reminder of her first Halloween.
Of course he gave in the second he realized what she wanted, because it's El and he can't resist making her happy.
"Fine, get the camera." He told his mom, who happily did so. "Make sure you give El some of them to keep though, okay?"
