finn & millie (au)
part 2Just as Finn had assumed, Millie did, in fact, read his note as soon as she'd gotten home.
It had been a rather long day for her at work and all she wanted to do was crawl in bed and go to sleep. She didn't exactly get much of it the night before thanks to a certain curly headed guy, so she was in desperate need of it.
She had her mind set on going home and doing just that, until she received a call from her sister, begging her to go out to dinner with her.
It had been quite awhile since Millie had seen, let alone spoken to her older sister, so of course she accepted. Sleep would unfortunately have to wait a little longer.
Hours later, after having sat through her chatty sister's long, drawn out stories, she finally returned to her apartment.
She mindlessly threw her keys and purse down on the kitchen table, stomping right up to her bedroom and that's when she saw the note.
She snatched the paper up so fast, her eyes frantically scanning over his somewhat messy handwriting. Her face fell after she had finished reading it.
He left her a ticket for his show, no doubt thinking she'd come and here it was nearing one in the morning and she wasn't there.
Oh, fuck.
She didn't want him to think that she just didn't want to go, because that wasn't true at all. Of course she would want to go. She wanted to see him again, she needed to. He had rarely left her mind that whole day.
Knowing it was probably a long shot, she still got right back in her car, driving well over the speed limit to get to the venue from the night before.
She pulled up in an empty space in front of the smaller building, finding the place deserted. Not a single music loving soul in sight.
Everyone had left, meaning he had left.
The show was over.
Obviously it's over, it's late Millie.
She laid her head down against the steering wheel, whining continuously, almost to the point where she sounded like a child who didn't get their way.
"Why didn't you give him your number?!" She scolded herself aloud. "Christ, Millie!"

When Millie woke the next morning, she was even more upset over losing Finn than she had been the night before.
How could he just be gone?
How could I just let him go?
She couldn't even begin to describe the feeling inside of her. Knowing that she had let this guy, this perfect, incredible guy get away just like that pained her.
Finn was truly amazing. She could sense that the second she laid eyes on him. How? She didn't quite know, but that wasn't important.
When she saw him that night, she knew she wanted him.
