Shane- they're just jealous

You never expected that you'd end up being a "ghost hunter" with your boyfriend and his best friend, but it's the best thing that happened to you. You couldn't ask for a better life, it was great you always had such a fun time with the boys going to locations and "hunting ghosts" you could never asked for anything else.

You had just got back from a location and were currently sitting at home in the living room just browsing YouTube and your Instagram because you were bored and its what any other person would do. One comment on a picture of you and Shane caught your eye.

User1: why does Shane even love her, she's not pretty

User2: Shane can do so much better than (y/n) someone who's prettier and way better

User3: Hey @user1 and @user2 can you guys just like shut up? Shane doesn't love (y/n) just for her looks he loves her because she's a good person

There was a mix of positive and negative comments on the picture, any negative comment had a positive person telling them off and it reminded you that there are good people out there but it still hurt to know that there are people out there that say hatful, mean, and rude things.

You hadn't realized it but your chest had started to tighten and your hands started to shake slightly, you switched the tab to a new one and pulled up YouTube. You clicked the newest buzzfeed unsolved video and went to the comments, you paused the video not wanting to listen to it again since you had lived it.

You scrolled to the bottom and saw comment after comment after comment that were all mean or negative and 90% of them were directed at you. Saying things like

"she's not pretty why does Shane stay with her?"

"she's fat and ugly and Shane can do better"

"I don't know why the boys like her, she's not even that great"

Some of them even turned into threats, some death, some rape, just regular, mean, upsetting threats.

Wave after wave of pain, hurt, and sadness washed over you, your breathing quickened, chest tightened even more, and your hands started to shake twice as much as before. You were scared, sad, nervous, and anxious. You didn't understand what you were doing wrong, you didn't understand why no one liked you, you didn't understand why so many people hated you.
