Shane- You Thought

There's no prompt for this one but it is gonna be some angst

Your hands were interlocked and swinging slightly as you and Shane walked on the wet sidewalk, your shoes clacking slightly as they came into contact with the hard pavement.

The moon was high in the sky casting down rays of ivory light, helping the street lamps illuminate your path. You looked up at the sky  and stared at the moon.

You turned you head and caught Shane staring at you. You smiled shyly and looked at you hands.

"What?"

"Nothing, Just that you're gorgeous"

You chuckled and shoved his arm slightly.

"Stop you're going to make me blush"

"It would only add to your beauty baby"

Your cheeks tinted a pink shade as you looked away. He grabbed your face in his hand and made you look at him. He pressed his lips to yours and captured you and in a sweet kiss.

Shane never used pet names often, so every time he did it turned you to a puddle and you'd melt. You kissed his cheek and continued walking.

You leaned into Shane's side and he wrapped his arm around your shoulders, you passed an alleyway and the air held a tight distress and it made you nervous. Your suspension was right when you were pulled into the alley, right out of Shane's arms.

You were roughly slammed against a brick wall, a dirty and musty smelling hand placed itself over your mouth. Shane stood at the entrance of the alley in a stance that said defensive but easy going. The last thing he wanted was for you to get hurt.

The man looked at shane and growled.

"Give me your money, phone, and that watch on your wrist or the pretty girl gets it"

"Hey man lets calm down, you can have it all but let her go"

"Not until you give me your stuff"

"Ok I'm getting my wallet"

Shane reaches for his wallet, but never noticed the other man reaching into his coat. You knew what it was and instinct took over. You shoved him back and jumped in front of Shane.

A deafening gunshot rang out and echoed off the walls. Shane places his hands all over his body making sure he didn't have any unwanted holes in his body. He looked over at you, your back turned and shoulders scrunched.

"(Y/n)?"

"Shane?"

You turned around and held your hand out for him to see, it was covered in blood. Your blood. You looked into his eyes, your knees gave out and you crumpled to the ground. He caught you seconds before you could land on the ground.

He placed your head into his lap and stroked your hair. He whispered sweet things to you as he pressed on the bleeding wound in your abdomen.

"(Y/n). (y/n) listen it's gonna be ok. You'll be ok"

You swallowed thickly, and looked at him.

"No shane it won't be. If I'm being honest it's kinda painful"

He wanted to chuckle but if he did he knew he'd cry so he didn't.

"You were shot (y/n) it's going to hurt"

"Hey Shane, I think I need a nap"

"No (y/n) you gotta stay awake"

He looked around, the man had left a long time ago.

"Help! Someone please help"

"Shane?"

"Yes Baby?"

"I'm sorry"

"Sorry? Sorry for what?"

"Not doing this sooner"

Shane stayed silent as you reached into your coat pocket and pulled out a velvet box. You gave it to him and he opened it, inside sat a delicate simple silver band.

"Oh, it's lovely. Is this why you asked my ring size last week?"

You chuckled and let out a pained hiss.

"Yeah, guilty as charged"

"Well lucky for you..."

Shane reaches into his pocket and pulled out a light purple velvet box. He opened it and inside there was a delicate gold band, with a small princess diamond in the center.

He grabbed your hand and put the ring on your left ring finger, you took as much energy as you could and put his ring on his left ring finger as well.

Shane leaned down and kissed you gently, he could sense that you were too weak to move. You looked into his eyes and smiled gently, you squeezed his hand as hard as you could.

"I do..."

You gave out your last puff of breath and your body went limp. Shane's eyes widened and he shook his head.

"No, no, no, no, No!"

He frantically grasped at your now limp figure.

"(Y/n) get up, wake up love. For me please!"

When you didn't move, he broke down and let the tears fall from his eyes. Hard sobs fell from his mouth as he hugged you as tight as he could manage.

Red, and blue lights flashed from the entrance of the alley. Shane screamed to let them know he was there.

Paramedics and police officers rushed in to make sure he was alright, the paramedics tried to take your body so they could you in the ambulance but Shane refused. He carried you in his arms the entire ride, mush to the paramedics annoyance.

Not that it mattered anyway, you were already gone. Shane didn't say a word on the way to police department. He rarely said anything while they tried to take his statement.

He rarely said anything anymore, he was a broken man. A broken man who wished he could've done something more, something better. He wished he could've done better, and that maybe he could've saved you.

He could've been able to save you.

Hey guys, guess who's back for a bit I guess idk. Some stuff has happened since I last updated. Like, I've developed a second crush this time on a girl who I'm pretty sure flirted with me lol. My other crush and I got into an argument about tartar sauce and he blocked me lmao. I finally told him that he wins so he unblocked me and we're good now.

He also cute his hair which made me sad bc it was my favorite part about him, but it was bothering him so I get it. And really that's pretty much it, schools been ok but it gets hectic here and there.

I'm not really that happy with this one and I feel like I could've done better but oh well. I'm trying to fully finish Coming From Nowhere (which is now renamed the Black Rose because I feel like that title fits better) so I've been juggling a lot of stuff lol but it's ok bc I got it somewhat figured out.

Anyway I appreciate the 25k reads and most of all I appreciate y'all for being patient with my majorly slow updates and crappy writing.
