*2 weeks Later*

Lyric's POV

I sat on the couch as everyone chatted and ate with one another.

Why did it all feel so wrong?

Probably because I was stuck. I mean, here I am at 17 and my life has been planned for me.

I'm gonna save the world on a weekly basis (aka whenever I'm called).

My boyfriend/best friend is going to college so who knows if we'll stay together.

Then I'll just be fighting evil with the powers given to me against my will in a lab.

I sound like the origin story of a comic book or something. Wanda walked over to where I sat and took the seat next to me.

"I'm not a 17 year old but I'm pretty sure parties are fun for everyone." She teased. I rolled my eyes and looked at her.

"I don't look like I'm having fun?" I asked.

"You look troubled. What's the problem?"

"I'm 17 but I feel 58."

"I'm confused, not even gonna pretend I know what you mean, elaborate."

"Wanda, ever since Hydra did their freaking experiments on me I gave up hope of a normal life, but then I didn't have powers and you guys found me. My life was kinda normal, and then my powers activated. Now, there's not a normal bone in my body."

"You laugh like everyone else, cry like everyone else, feel like everyone else, and love like everyone else. That's not normal enough for you?"

"My boyfriend is going to college with real normal girls. I don't know how we'll last, Wanda. Jesus, you know I love you guys, but my birthday party is full of people above 20 and not one person my age. I'll never be normal." Wanda pouted before looking toward the elevator that dinged.

"I'm pretty sure your friends and boyfriend are here." She said, a small smile playing on her lips. I looked and saw Peter with Ned and MJ in tow. I haven't seen Ned and MJ since formal, but sometimes we talk in our group chat. By talk I mean mostly send memes but hey, friendship is friendship.

"Hey, Peter, you didn't tell me they were coming." I smiled walking towards the trio. Peter wore a yellow soccer jersey and dark jeans. His defined curls combined with his charming boyish smile made my heart skip a beat. Maybe 3.

"It was a surprise." He said, pulling me into a hug. I laughed and hugged him back. I pulled away from his embrace and looked at Ned and Michelle.

"Thanks for coming guys. It's really good to see you again." I smiled hugging both of them.

"Same to you, and happy birthday!" Ned grinned. Michelle just shrugged, a small smile on her face.

"Peter talks about you like 24/7 so I had to come, also you seem cool." She said nonchalantly. I gave a small chuckle and looked around.

"If you want, I can introduce you guys to everyone or we could just go to the game room and play some video games?" I suggested.

"A woman after my own heart. Video games sound awesome." Ned nodded.

"Cool, Peter take them to the game room. I'll just tell uncle Tony where we'll be." I said. Peter agreed, kissing my temple before walking off.

Peter's POV

"Her house is huge man! This is so wild." Ned gasped. I chuckled and looked over at him.

"I got lost the first time I was here. That's how I met Lyric officially." I said.

"Wow, I'm surprised she didn't think you were super lame." Michelle scoffed.

"Whatever, MJ. We all know you actually do like me and are happy for me." I smirked. She just rolled her eyes, a small smile playing at her lips.

"Whatever, Parker." She said. We finally arrived at the game room and I started to set up Mario Kart. It was then Lyric came running in.

"Hey! I brought some snacks and drinks. What are we playing?" She said sitting next to me.

"Mario Kart so I can kick your ass." I teased. She scoffed and shoved my head playfully.

"In your dreams loser."

We had cake, ate some pizza, and played more games. It was fun to be able to hang out with my friends and my girlfriend. For the first time in a while, Lyric looked so happy and it made my heart soar. Soon the sun had set and the party had come to a close.

"Dad, Papa, I'm just sleeping over at Peter's house. It's not like his aunt won't be there." Lyric sighed rolling her eyes teasingly.

"And what time will you have her home?" Steve asked, eyeing me askance.

"How does 3 sound?" I offered.

"Take care of my girl, Parker," Bucky growled. I nodded and took Lyric's hand. We ran out of the tower where Ned and Michelle stood on the sidewalk.

"We just wanted to say thanks for having us. We had a lot of fun today." Ned said.

"Hey no, it was all my pleasure. Having you guys there made today soooo much better. Peter needs to stop hogging you guys to himself. MJ, I'm dragging you to the mall with me next week." Lyric smiled.

"It's a plan, Lyr." Michelle smiled back. Ned and Michelle went their separate ways, leaving Lyric and I herding into her car.

"So, I never gave you my present." I whistled.

"Peter, you didn't have to get me anything." Lyric frowned, her face illuminated by the moonlight.

She looked gorgeous.

"Well I did and I think you're gonna like it." I smiled. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out the folded paper, handing it to her. Lyric opened it cautiously and I saw her look of curiosity change to confusion.

"What are the points you circled on this map?" She asked.

"These are the colleges I applied to. They're all within an hour and a half away. Lyric, I couldn't imagine going anywhere too far from you. I love you." I said honestly. Lyric looked up at me, eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"Peter..."

"I also got you this," I added pulling out a rose gold princess ring. Lyric's hand came up to her mouth as she looked from me to the ring.

"P-Peter, this is...oh my god." She mumbled.

"I thought you'd like something from me, not as serious as an engagement ring or something, but just so everyone knows you're mine," I said sliding the ring on her left ring finger. Lyric pulled me toward her, connecting our lips in a sweet passionate kiss. She pulled back and bit her lip anxiously.

"How much time do we have before May comes home?" She asked.

"It's like 10 now so I'd say 2 or 3 hours," I replied.

"Peter we need to get to your house, now." So that's how we ended up speeding to my apartment, running up the stairs, and furiously dragging the clothes off of each other in the dark.

"I love you so much." I panted, kissing her hand with the ring shining in the moonlight.

"I love you too Peter. I don't ever want you to leave." Lyric replied, sucking dark spots on the base of my neck. I groaned, pulling her face up to mine. Her eyes held a spark of electricity in them as I tangled my fingers in her hair, bringing her in for a searing kiss.

"Then I won't...I won't leave, ever." I whispered, intertwining our hands.
