Chapter 73

Lyric's POV

I opened my eyes, sitting up in alarm. I looked around as my eyes adjusted to the bright room.

It was pink.

I looked down at the bed I was sitting in to see pale purple sheets and countless stuffed animals.

"What the hell?" I mumbled. A sudden knock came from the door shocking me to my feet.

"Bathroom is free loser!" A familiar voice called. Walking to the door, I passed a mirror and stopped to look at my reflection. My curly hair was just about by my shoulder tops and my face looked bright.

I looked 16.

It was then that I realized what had happened. I was in another world, one where Peter was still alive. I smiled at the realization and bounded out of the room. Only this wasn't the avengers tower. I saw a door that was opened to a bathroom and walked in. There were four cups labeled with toothbrushes.

Lyric, Jamie, Jenny, James

I quickly brushed my teeth with my brush and washed my face.

"Hurry, up there! You're gonna be late for school!" A new voice called. I ran back to my room and threw on a sweater over a tank top and pulled on black leggings. I walked down the stairs and followed the scent of food. My mouth got dry as I beheld the scene in front of me. Jamie sat at the dining table next to our father and Jenny was by the stove.

"Hey, slowpoke! Grab a pop tart and get going. You don't have time for eggs and bacon." Jen smiled. I looked from her to dad who stood up, smiling at me.

"Morning sunshine. How'd you sleep?" He asked. I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly.

"Good. I slept good." I mumbled into his shirt.

"Oh my god, you're so weird." Jamie scoffed.

"Stop calling your sister weird, Jamie." Jenny warned.

"Alright everyone in the car. I've gotta get to work now." Dad announced. Jamie and I followed him to the car, grabbing our bags.

"Have a great day!" Jamie called, waving us goodbye. This all felt so surreal. Is this what normal felt like?

"So Lyric, any dates tonight you forgot to mention to me?" Dad asked as we drove out of the driveway.

"Huh?" I choked out in shock.

"Don't be so surprised. The whole school is talking about you and Jack." Jamie giggled.

"Jack? Do I know his parents?" Dad pondered.

"You know his cousin. She's Tony Stark's wife."

"You're going on a date with Jack Winchester?" This was all news to me so I just shrugged and nodded.

"Yeah I guess." I answered.

"How'd you two even meet?" Dad pressed.

"She was with Peter and I when we went to the tower. Jack was there and they hit it off." Jamie smiled. Peter? They must be friends. Dad pulled up in front of Midtown school of science and technology.

"Have a great day you guys. Learn a lot." He said, handing both Jamie and I lunch money. We got out of the car and made our way up the stairs.

"So, wanna eat lunch together?" I suggested. Jamie looked at me and laughed.

"Me and you? Eating lunch together? Liz and the popular kid squad are waiting for you Lyric. See ya after school." She snickered. I watched as she walked down the hall and then I caught a glimpse of him. He leaned against his locker, Ned chatting him up about something. My heart instantly swelled at seeing him so young and happy again. I started toward him but halted when I saw what happened next.

Jamie ran into Peter's arms, looking up into his eyes. Peter laughed and pressed his lips to hers briefly.

What the hell?

"Lyr! Come on over here and spill all the details. You and Jack Winchester?! What the hell?" A tall girl squealed grabbing my arm. She was gorgeous with long dark brown hair and light brown skin.

"Liz, chill out. She looks like she's seen a ghost." Another girl with blonde hair chuckled.

"I'm just so ticked she didn't tell me before! Let's walk and talk. What are you wearing?" I let Liz ramble on as I took one more glance back at Peter, his arm around Jamie as they laughed happily.

I didn't like this not one bit.
