Peter's POV
"You guys are gonna stay with May for a while," I said softly. Iris latched herself onto my leg.
"Daddy, please don't go! Don't leave like mommy." She sobbed.
"Hey, daddy is coming back princess, don't you worry." Junior hugged my other leg tightly like his sister.
"Please be careful, Dad." He begged.
"You guys, I'm gonna be just fine. Be good for May, alright." I smiled.
That was yesterday afternoon. We were about an hour out from Jamie's location and I was shaking with anticipation.
Today I was gonna know for sure if my wife was alive or dead.
"Peter, how are you feeling?" Bucky asked.
"I'm honestly running on fumes at this point. I don't know what I'll do if the information we find is something I don't wanna hear." I sighed.
"I know what you mean, but we'll know soon enough."
Lyric's POV
"Lyric, where are you?" Harry called. I turned on the lights in the room, standing in my underwear. Harry immediately smiled.
"I've been looking forward to this for what feels like forever." He said licking his lips. I giggled and let myself fall into arms.
"Well, the wait is over," I whispered before connecting our lips. We both fell on the bed, lips connected. I pulled off Harry's shirt and shimmied down his pants.
"I wish I had more time. More time to see your stomach grow with our creation, our love." He said fiercely, running his hands down my stomach.
"We can't always get what we want, darling." I snarled, pulling out a knife from behind the pillow. Harry's eyes widened as I slit his throat. His hands flew to his throat, watching me with betrayal in his eyes. Tears came to my own eyes and I kept stabbing him. I saw Jack's face in my mind and I screamed.
"You ruined my life! I wish I'd never met you! You're a monster, the devil! I hope you rot in hell!" I screeched. My stabs slowed as my sobs got louder and more violent. I looked to see his completely still and bloody chest. I got off of him, running to the room over where Natalia was asleep in her winter jacket. I picked her up carefully and ran out of the building.
Peter's POV
I stood behind Steve and Bucky as we all maneuvered our way through the cold snowy woods.
"I'm not picking up any heat signatures but we're close," Tony reported.
"It's quiet out here, too quiet," Wanda noted.
"Snow silences a lot. It's like a blanket." Bucky stated. Suddenly a beep came from Tony's suit.
"I got heat signatures, but one belongs to an infant." He said puzzled.
"Guys, building up ahead." Natasha pointed out. We all looked at the large building and started towards it cautiously. Suddenly, a body ran out frantically and everyone raised their weapons. It was a woman, hair dirty and messy, cradling something. The woman raised her head and I was shocked.
Lyric looked up at Steve and Bucky and was calm, ignoring the fact that her face was splattered with blood.
"Daddy...papa." She sniffled. I started towards her, removing my mask. She looked at me, eyes glassy and nearly dead, not the vibrant brown I'm used to.
"Peter." She whimpered. I took her face in my hand and used the other to wipe away the blood from her face. There were no words to be said. What could we say? I looked at the bundle in her arms and saw brown eyes looking up at me.
