Lyric's POV

"Lyric, how about this?" Wanda said excitedly, showing me a purple fluffy rug.

"I like it." Tony was eager to get me set up into the tower so it could feel more homey. Wanda, Pietro, Dad and I stood in a store called Pottery Barn as we picked out furniture and stuff.

"This canopy bed is so nice, Doll!" Dad gasped, touching the lace of the canopy. He was usually so stoic and guarded, but I guess interior design was his passion or something.

"It's pretty." I agreed. He smiled and called over the sales lady helping us.

"This white vanity would look so good with the purple and black in your room. Those are really pretty colors ugh, this is so exciting!" Wanda smiled, grabbing my hand. It made me happy to see her happy. All the happiness in the tower the last couple of days was really rubbing off on me.

"Okay, so we have curtains, bed frame, mattress, rugs, dresser, and everything else. Can we just go home now?" Pietro whined.

"Always so damn impatient, Piet. We'll leave when Lyric is ready." Wanda scoffed. I laughed at the two of them and shook my head.

"I'm done. Tony said he'd order the rest."

"Good, lets get Barnes and get out." Pietro grabbed my hand and Wanda's as we looked for Dad. Walking, I noticed a man who had been watching us a bit too intently. I turned to get a full look at him but he avoided my gaze. I didn't like that at all but I tried to brush it off. Everything was fine, until I caught sight of a pin on his jacket cuff and the smile on my face dropped.

Hydra.

I quickly yanked back Wanda and Pietro, and sent all three of us to the ground just as a bullet whizzed past my head.

"Dad!" I called, as the three of us crawled behind a couch.

"Dammit, Hydra isn't it?" Pietro cursed. Looking around I saw a chair and broke the leg off of it. I peered around the chair and saw the legs of the agent approaching.

"Go." I whispered harshly to Pietro and Wanda.

"What about you?" Wanda asked, eyes wide.

"We can help." Pietro added.

"Go." The twins left and I raised the chair leg carefully. Dammit, I know I couldn't remember much but hopefully my muscle memory wouldn't fail me. I swung with all my strength and felt the chair leg connect with the agent's leg. He fell to the ground, dropping his gun. I quickly picked it up and pointed it at his head.

"You sure you know how to use that, little one?" The man taunted. I cocked the gun, watching the mirth fall off of the man's face.

"Like riding a bike." I replied, the silencer surprisingly light in my hand. Familiar.

"Lyric!" I felt Dad put a hand on my shoulder and scan me over.

"You okay? He didn't hurt you?" I shook my head, my eyes never leaving the agent in front of me. Dad grabbed the agent by his collar and glared at him.

"I don't ever want to see you anywhere near her again, you hear me. And you can tell your whole organization that." He growled lowly before twisting the man's arm behind his back. "You're coming back with us."

At home, Papa was slightly terrified at the thought of an agent recognizing me in public and aiming for me. To be honest, I wasn't all that phased.

"Lyric, you could've been hurt or even worse captured. Hydra is still out there, I don't think it's safe for you to be out where anyone can just get you." Papa worried.

"I'm okay though." I shrugged.

"Listen I know you're okay, I get it, but next time you might not be and I don't like those chances."

"I can't leave the tower anymore?"

"You can leave the tower with someone." The terms were fair enough I guess. Honestly I just wanted everyone happy.

"Fine." I agreed. Papa gave me a tight lipped smile and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Thanks for being so understanding I just wanna keep you safe Darlin'." I smiled back and nodded. Things were still gonna be fine, I just knew it.
