Lyric's POV
I walked away, ignoring Peter's calls buzzing in my pocket.
I can't believe he kept this from me.
I got to the tower and went straight to my floor. I walked into my room and jumped seeing a red and blue figure stood outside my window.
"Get out of here, Parker." I sighed.
"Lyric, please let me in." Peter pleaded. Knowing that if he fell I may be responsible for his death, I let him in. Peter came in and took off the mask.
"I didn't know how to tell you." He stated.
"Maybe in the three months that we were hanging out, it could've come up! Jesus, I helped design your suit!" I cried.
"I really do like the suit..."
"Peter, I thought you trusted me."
"Lyric, please believe me when I say I do trust you. I just wanted you to like me, Peter Parker, not Spider-Man. Plus I didn't want another target over your head. You live with the Avengers."
"I told you everything, even things that I don't like to admit to myself. I...I don't know how to feel about this, Peter."
"I understand if you need time. I just...don't want this to be what tears us apart." I nodded and looked down at my purple bedspread.
"I'm gonna need some time," I stated softly. Peter sighed in acceptance, turning back to the window. Before he completely stepped out, he looked back at me one last time.
"I trust you with my life. I know it doesn't seem like it since I kept this from you, but I still think you're one of the most trustworthy people I know." With that, he was gone. I watched as he swung from building to building and suddenly I wanted to cry. I made my way to the lab and saw Uncle Tony fixing a suit.
"Hey kiddo, what's up." He asked as I sat next to him. I hid my face in my arms to hide the stupid tears that were escaping.
"Why didn't you tell me Peter's Spider-Man?" I mumbled. I heard Uncle Tony sigh before hearing the hard clank of him putting down a tool.
"It wasn't my secret to tell, sweetheart." He replied.
"Did everyone know?"
"...Yeah." My lip began to quiver against my will as my resolve broke.
"I hate him and I hate all of you." I managed to get out before the sobs took my voice.
"Hey, what happened? Did Parker do something?" Uncle Tony panicked, picking up my head from my arms. I looked at him, struggling to catch my breath.
"Am I a bad friend? Is that why he wouldn't tell me? I'm no good at this bullshit!" I sobbed.
"Peter just doesn't want many people knowing. I'm sure he would've told you eventually." Uncle Tony said.
"I told him everything. Laid myself completely bare. I told him all about Hydra and I hate even thinking about those days. I thought we knew everything about each other."
"Lyric, it's okay."
"No! No, it's not okay because...I think I like him...a lot," I confessed. "If he couldn't trust me to tell me about Spider-Man, how is there any hope for us?" Uncle Tony didn't know what to say so he settled for pulling me into a hug.
Too bad I only wanted Peter to comfort me.
*1 Week Later*
I sat in the back of the car, playing with my fingers nervously. Peter is usually home on Saturday mornings. He said he likes to watch the old cartoons that come on while he eats breakfast.
