Connie's scream echoed throughout the entire house. It was loud enough to scare away some of the seagulls that were outside on the deck and rooftop.
Garnet looked up from petting Cat Steven hearing this scream. She immediately sets the cat onto the floor before rushing to the stairs.
Pearl flinched in her seat, turning her head towards the stairs hearing this terrifying scream as well. She stood quickly to her feet just as Garnet disappeared up them. "Connie?!" She yelled out, not caring about the promise anymore and runs up behind Garnet being followed by Amethyst. The group has never heard such a scream from this girl before, this was very concerning to them as the Gems stood one after another in the doorway of the room, wondering what had happened. Pearl moved in front of Garnet holding out her arms to catch the crying girl that came running towards her. She held Connie close trying to calm her down to get some answers. "Connie, what happened? Why did you scream like that?" She asked becoming extremely confused with the young girls cries.
"I-i-it's Steven!" Connie cried out unable to speak clearly through her sobs. She pointed at the bed shaking lightly in Pearl's arms "He's... He's..." Her sobs continue.
Garnet looked down at the two and frowns. She bit into her bottom lip gently seeing all the fear and sadness in Connie's eyes and face. She takes a deep breath to keep herself calm and slowly walked over to Steven's side, kneeling down at the bedside once she arrived. Letting the held in breath of air out she prepared herself for what worse, for what she couldn't see with her vision earlier was about to be revealed. "Steven?" She called his name softly as she reached a hand up, gently pulling the blankets away from the young males face only to see the horror underneath them. "Oh no." Her voice cracked as her eyes filled with tears. Steven was laying there unconscious on his side with a small puddle of blood forming right under his face. "Steven!?!" She yelled out shaking the male lightly. "Can you hear me?! Steven!?!!"
Amethyst slowly walked over to get a better look. Her eyes widened at the sight of the blood. "Dude?! What happened?!" Seeing this made her take a few steps back being caught off guard. As the moment passed she ran over to try and help Garnet wake him up. "He's not moving!"
"What is it!?" Pearl finally let go of Connie as her curiosity got the best of her. "What do you mean he isn't moving?" She asked before coming to tears instantly seeing the blood. "Oh, my stars! Steven!?" She crawls onto the bed pulling the rest of the covers away. "I don't see any wounds. What's happening to him?! Where is the blood coming from?! Why is there blood!?" She panicked asking question after question.
Connie looked at the Gems when they all started to panic. She couldn't believe that they were in this much of a panic. Have they never seen Steven hurt before? Have they always protected him so much that he never bled in front of them before? Why were they acting like this? Why aren't they calm?..... Millions of questions that had no answers to. But as of this moment she knew that something was wrong with her best friend and they had to get him help immediately. "Guys! We have to stay calm! Panicking like this isn't going to help him!"
Amethyst looked up with tears flowing down her face. "What are we supposed to do then?"
"There's blood, so he has some sort of injury that we can't see with a clear view. We should get him to a doctor, my mom will be able to help him more than anyone else. She'll understand him more because of his diamond and all the research she has been able to do thanks to your help." Connie rubbed the tears from her eyes and takes a few calm, deep breaths so that she could focus on helping her friend. 'Steven needs me now more than ever. Pull it together. You got this.' She thought to herself, getting a grip on reality quickly. She nods her head agreeing with her own thoughts. "Garnet, wrap him back up in that blanket to keep his body temperature up, then bring him downstairs so we can go straight to the hospital." She paused to think for a moment about the next step of action. "I'll go get Lion ready since he'll be our fastest way to get there without having to wait for an ambulance to come get us or have someone else to take us." She made the small order before running downstairs and outside to the deck calling for the pink lion, hoping that he was nearby.
