"You know, it's great that we have a strong maybe indestructible shield. But it's a shame that we won't be able to use it." Jasper walked back over to the couch and sat down.
"What makes you say that?" Steven asked.
"Cause there is nothing big and important for us to use it against. Aren't you forgetting that you made this a perfect world mister savior of the planet." Jasper chuckled.
Steven frowns lightly. "I'm guessing you're not understanding that I may have fixed the problem of a lot of gems but there are still tons left affected. The ones you see walking around are just the ones that we have managed to capture and bubble so that they wouldn't reform. Just this morning we were fighting a mutant gem creature. That's how I got hurt."
Garnet picked up the bubble of the gem they fought. "We had to form two of our fusions to get this thing to pop."
Steven looked over to see the gem he risked his life for. "Huh?" He walked over to Garnet taking the gem from her. "It's... Black."
"What?" Pearl hears this and came over to examine the gem as well. "That's impossible. The gem we were fighting was yellow."
"Pearl this is black." Steven popped the bubble to get a better look. As the gem landed in his hand shards of yellow gemstones fall to the floor. "What the hell?!" He bubbles it back up quickly not taking any chance of reforming.
Pearl bent down to examine the shard. "This is remnants of a Tiger Eye."
"Tiger..." Jasper hears that name. "She was one of my soldiers when we first popped out of our Kindergarten. There were only three of her to ever exist cause she was so rare to make."
"What happened to them?" Steven asked.
"They disappeared on a recon mission of a recently colonized planet. Never saw them ever again." Jasper got up from the couch and walked over holding out her hand. "Hand her over... Please."
"If they disappeared off-planet then how in the world did this one get back onto earth to be affected by the Diamond Blast?" Steven asked.
"How am I supposed to know. Just give her to me." Jasper demanded.
Pearl nods with a small smile. She handed over Jaspers fallen comrade. "I am sorry for your loss. If only we knew what this black gem was and how they got a hold of Tiger Eye we could avenge her."
"Whoa, let's keep the calm here. Let's get a small bucket ready. I'll grab the Diamonds healing vials from the bathroom. We'll stand at the ready with our weapons. When she reforms will make sure that she doesn't get away from us. Ask who she is, just the standard questions." Steven looked at the gem in his hand. He had a horrible feeling about this. Why was the gem black? How was it able to fuse with a corrupted Tiger Eye? Why was it fused? So many questions to ask and they haven't even begun to learn the new gem.

Garnet walked over with a wash bucket filled with water.
Connie had grabbed the vials for Steven. "How many drops from each one?"
"One, it doesn't matter which order." Steven licked one of his fingers and dipped it into the water first.
Connie added a drop from each vial. The water swirls with magic. "Whoa, this is just as cool as the fountain."
"Yeah, you might want to stand back. Who knows what will happen." Steven looked up at Connie with worry in his eyes.
