Steven opened his eyes and tilted his head when he noticed he was still in the hospital room with Connie next to him. He narrowed his eyes studying her features.

"What? Did I get some cake on my face?" Connie asked.

'Cake? My birthday cake? That wasn't in my dream world.' Steven thought to himself and looked down at his stomach lifting up his shirt seeing his gem. "I'm still here??"

"That's weird, you're the king of sleep. I've seen you fall asleep in horrible situations. The record I think was when Yellow and Blue came to free The Cluster." Connie giggled holding out a piece of cake to Steven. "Here, try it."

Steven sat up with a smile on his face. "Here's to another year of living." He takes a bite with a big grin on his face. "Wow... Who made this?"

"Lars did. I asked him if he could make a vegan cake he said no problem." Connie smiled softly.

Steven chuckled lightly. "I have to give him a big hug for this the next time I see him." He looked up at the empty room. "Where did everyone go?"

"Home, except Pearl. She is with my mom thinking of a game plan for your at-home recovery." Connie looked down at her phone. "If you want I can message her."

Steven handed his plate over. "Nah, I just want to relax. I probably won't be able to get back into that world for a while since they subdued me."

"Oh my God, why?" Connie asked a little concerned.

"I... Hit my Dad." Steven frowns laying back. "In the face."

Connie sighs out. "Steven."

"How would you react if every time you fell asleep you ended up in a living hell?" Steven clenched his fists. "If pink is doing this to me for revenge then I have to put an end to this stupid little game she's playing. I'm not going to suffer for her entertainment!!" Steven slowly started to glow pink as he got angrier.

Connie gasps lightly taking a step back. "Steven?!"

Steven looked at his hands. "Whoa..." He looked at every inch of his body that was visible. "I'm pink..." The pink glow slowly faded away.

"That's new." Connie commented.

"Yeah, I don't think I've done that before." Steven moved his hands around seeing if it would happen again. "That was so weird."

Connie frowns lightly. The way he was talking was the same way he spoke to her in the bathroom months ago. She wanted to say something but decided not too.

Pearl walked into the room holding a few papers. "Good news Connie. As soon as Steven wakes up we can get him ready to go home." She looked up from the papers. "Steven." She acted a little surprised.

"Let's go home then. I have a lot of work to do." Steven stood up from the bed and looked for his clothes. "You guys by any chance bring me clean clothes huh?"

"No, we didn't. You'll have to wear those home. It's a good thing I drove your car here that way we don't have to call Greg." Pearl made sure Steven would be warm enough with what he was wearing before they went outside.

"Pearl, I'm fine." Steven gently pushed her hands away from his clothing. "It's a simple walk to the car. How cold can it be?"

"Not very, but you can never be too careless especially since you were in a coma." Pearl smiled.

"Cool." Steven pushed passed her quickly. All he wanted to do was go home and deal with Pink before she did anything drastic or stupid. He takes his time walking since he hasn't done it in months. He leans against the wall shaking lightly.
