We Should Talk.

Steven slept for about an hour before his stomach growled and woke him up. He let out a small grunt opening his eyes. He sat up slowly in his bed rubbing one of his eyes looking down at Connie who had fallen asleep sitting on the floor. "oh geez." He stood up slowly and used what little strength he had to lift her onto the bed to make things more comfortable. He sighs in relief that she had stayed asleep, not that it was a surprise since she had stayed by his side the entire time that he was in the hospital. He walked downstairs and looked around to see if anyone was there. It was empty. "Hmmm... What should I have?" He asked himself going into the fridge. "Looks like Amethyst has been in here... A lot." He sighed closing the door. "Well if the fridge is empty then what am I going to have?" He asked himself again. "Oh, maybe I can get some Fish Stew Pizza. I'm sure they have vegan options now. " He pulled out his phone and called the restaurant. He placed his order before walking back up the stairs to get some money.

Connie was sitting up in the bed with her knees to her chest. "There you are, I was starting to think that I was in a weird dream and you weren't here."

"Oh? That sounds horrible. I had a feeling like that in my mom's room once. I imagined the entire town." Steven grabbed his wallet that had a yellow star on the front.

"I remember you telling me about that. You even imagined me..." Connie smiled softly. "Even if it was a weird messed up vision."

Steven pulled some money out. "I ordered a pizza, I could use some help eating it."

"Steven, I've seen you eat a whole pizza to yourself. I think you'll be fine." Connie giggled. "Plus I already had my bad food of the day, three donuts."

"Oh come on, pizza isn't that bad for you. Sure it's a little greasy but it has cheese and meat on it, with fish. Plus I made it gluten-free and part vegan." Steven sat down for a moment to catch his breath.

"You okay?" Connie asked with a concerned look on her face.

"Yeah, just standing takes a lot out of me. I may not be able to poof like the others can and have their gems just regenerate a new body for them but I still feel like I'm going to just explode." Steven frowns holding a hand over his gem. "It's just a weird, awful feeling that I can't let my form disappear like it needs to so that I can heal properly. You get what I'm saying?"

"Yeah, they always say that their forms are a figment of the imagination and are only there to give their gems a purpose to walk and move around. They have the power to make them stronger or weaker. Taller or smaller. It's just their gem that gives them the body that they desire." Connie looked down for a moment. "But with you being half-human it's different."

Steven sighs softly. "You would think that with all the technology and weird inventions that they have there would be a way to make me fully human with gem powers, or the complete opposite."

"Steven!" Connie looked up upset.

"What?" Steven looked confused.

"You're seriously sitting there talking about how you don't want to be human anymore. What, is there a problem with being human all of a sudden?" Connie frowns.

"No... No, I just... Ngh, nevermind. I wasn't thinking straight. There isn't anything wrong with me... I guess Pink's thoughts are just breaking through trying to make her voice be heard." Steven looked down at himself.

"Like Ruby and Sapphire would do to Garnet?" Connie asked.

"Maybe, Every time I see Garnet talk to herself I can tell that it's Ruby and Sapphire having a conversation out loud. It's actually a little disturbing cause they would end up unfusing from it. And then they would spend a day apart before getting back together..." Steven sighs again. "Pink isn't saying that it is wrong for me to be human. She's just upset that what had happened to the gem is causing my human body to be so sick and weak."
