Here's A New Friend

"What the..." A deep female sounding voice spoke out. Hands reached up to be stared at. "Whoa... Universe? Jasper?!" The voice gasps covering its mouth. And very dark-colored gem was sitting on the ground where the two used to be. "We fused?!" They stood up quickly in shock. "Get out of me right now! No, it's okay, just stay calm. Takes deep breaths in." They breathe in and out calming down. "I haven't fused with anything since I tried to kill you... How do you feel? How do we feel?" They walk around for a moment holding themselves in deep thought for a good minute. They come to a stop with a smile on their face. "Amazing. I feel so powerful with you. I feel things that I have never felt before." They looked up at the sky watching the clouds drift by. "What do we do now? What are we even called? What can we even do?" They asked questions but sigh with no answer. "Guess it's up to us to find out." They go back to the cave and sat down. "I can't believe that you want to stay like this with me... It isn't scaring you? No." They go silent staring at the fire. "Wait this is perfect, my body isn't in any pain when we're fused, we can go back to the Dondai. Maybe the Gems will be there." They smiled as they slowly started to walk but froze in place looking back at the cave. "It's okay, I won't let them hurt you. We will all sit down and explain everything that has happened. I promise." They smile again continuing their walk.

Pearl was pacing back and forth in front of the car. "This is taking too long. We have to go in there and look for him."

"Pearl, you have to calm down. I told you Steven is fine and he'll be here soon." Garnet said softly as she leans against the car.

"I heard you the first time. But what is so important on waiting here instead of looking for him?" Pearl looked over a little upset.

Garnet adjusted her glasses. "I see a potential future where he walks out completely unharmed, and another one that I am extremely curious about."

"What's the other one?" Amethyst asked.

"Instead of Steven walking out we get to meet a new friend." Garnet smiled.

"A new friend? What on earth are you talking about?" Pearl asked but then gasps turning around hearing a branch break. "Steven?!"

The new fusion slowly walked out from behind the tree. They stare at the others silently.

Amethyst's mouth dropped open with shock.

Pearl gasps holding a hand over her mouth. "What? Who are you?"

Garnet blinked in awe. "Curiosity just blew my mind." She slowly walked over to the fusion. "I suggest you come undone before you pass out." She held out her arms getting ready to catch something or someone.

The fusion nods glowing brightly as they unfused. Steven lands in Garnet's arms with a soft grunt. He quickly hugged onto her being extremely happy to see his friends again.

Jasper stood there silently looking at the ground.

"Jasper?!" Amethyst and Pearl yelled out in shock. Pearl backed up behind Garnet.

"Guys, she saved me. Please don't do anything to hurt her." Steven pants lightly.

Garnet reached into Stevens jacket pocket pulling out the keys to the car "Pearl, you're the only one that knows how to drive. Take us and our new friend home." She smiled at Jasper.

Jasper looked at the vehicle with an eyebrow raised. "I have to get into that weird ship?"

"It's a car. And don't worry you can sit on the front so that you're not touching any of us." Amethyst leads Jasper to the passenger seat.
