Garnet got Steven back to the house and helped him up the stairs to get inside. "If you want I can make you something."

"It's okay Garnet, I'm sure my dad will bring me something back from the Big Donut." He holds his stomach to support himself going up the stairs to the bedroom.

"Steven, it's okay to have regrets about love. I know I have." Garnet sat down on the couch.

Steven froze in place on the stairs. "Wait, what?! You had regrets!? Which one of you was it?" He moved as quickly as he could to sit next to Garnet knowing that a story would be involved.

"To be honest, it was both of us." She looked down at her two gems on her hands. "It was about a few months after Sapphire saved herself with Ruby so that they wouldn't be shattered when they came out of the fusion of Garnet. After discovering the beautiful Earth and roaming for a while and fusing back together. I met Pearl and Rose again. Rose helped the two of us stay as Garnet letting her own thoughts form and ours stayed silent."

Steven smiled softly as he listened. "So...what made you have regrets?"

"It was Ruby at first. When I looked at some water and saw our reflection and saw the different colors my form was and how untidy it was, Ruby's thoughts woke up and forced the two apart."

Flashback

Ruby stood up from the ground after unfusing with Sapphire. She looked upset. "I can't do this, we....we..."

Sapphire looked up from the ground. "What's wrong?"

"We don't look right!" Ruby yells getting the attention of Rose and Pearl.

Rose walked over. "What's going on? You unfused." She frowns.

"Because I felt uncomfortable." Ruby lied.

"No, you said that you didn't like the way we looked." Sapphire frowns standing up. "If you hate our appearance then why did you fuse with me again in the first place?"

Ruby looked angry but then upset then sad. She runs off into the woods.

"Pearl, stay here with the Sapphire please." Rose asked and walked off to find Ruby.

Pearl nods and sat down with Sapphire quietly. Neither of them said a word.

Rose found Ruby sitting on a rock and stood next to her. "Hey there champ, want to talk?"

"No." Ruby folds her arms onto her knees and hid her face in them.

"You know, I couldn't help but notice that what Sapphire said made you feel all sorts of things. You sure you're okay?" Rose asked again.

"Yes!....maybe... I don't know okay! Just when I saw myself in the water I didn't...I didn't like it. The colors and the eyes... It was just so weird looking to me." Ruby looked up. "Why did I hate it?"

Rose sat down and thought for a moment. "Well, there can be a lot of things. One is that a fusion between two different gems has never happened before. Or the fact that you have three eyes. Maybe the colors... And the untidiness of the form..."

"Okay, I get it... We are wrong." Ruby frowns.

"Oh no! You aren't wrong. You are perfect in your own way. It's just up to the two of you what you want to look like." Rose smiled placing a hand on Ruby back. "When you came out of your Kindergarten why did you want to look like this? Did you do it cause it felt right? Or did you see someone else look like this and chose it?"

"I...I wanted to look like this." Ruby looked down at herself.

"Do you think Sapphire chose to have one eye? Or did she embrace it and just hide it from others with her hair?" Rose asked with a smile.

Ruby blushed lightly. "I like her eye. It makes her... Special."

"See, even if it was a defective feature she knew that it was meant to be. She loves herself the way she is and you love yourself for the way you are. So why not love what the two of you make... But make it what you want." Rose stood up slowly. "I chose to be me. And I love every moment of it."

Ruby looked up at Rose and smiled standing up with her. "Yeah... Yeah! I shouldn't be ashamed of what I look like. As long as I love myself." She gasps. "Oh no, Sapphire. I left her alone!"

"Don't worry, Pearl is with her. Let's get back and the two of you can have a nice, peaceful, loving talk." Rose leads Ruby back to the two gems at the small lake.

Sapphire looked over and stood up. "You're back!" She walked over to Ruby happy to see her again.

Rose walked to Pearl and whispered for her to follow and leave the two alone for a while.

Ruby looked at Sapphire and rubbed the back of her head. "Can I... Talk to you at the... Waters edge?"

"Oh, of course." Sapphire held Ruby's hand as the two walked back to the water. They both sit down I silence for a while.

"So... I uh... I had a talk with Rose." Ruby finally spoke.

"I know, I saw." Sapphire looked down at the water.

"Right, your future seeing thingy." Ruby smiled softly looking at the water to. "I'm sorry for the way I reacted... I was just confused and a little scared of what we were."

"It's okay... When I saw our face in the water I to became confused as well." Sapphire frowns slightly.

"When... When we get back together... If we get back together. I will love whatever we become because... Because I love you." Ruby blushed deeply looking at Sapphire.

Sapphire looked up at Ruby smiling. "I love you too, and I'm sure whatever we become will be made by our love." She leans in hugging Ruby. The two laugh and slowly started to glow fusing back together. Garnet blinked a few times and looked at the reflection of the water. She smiled standing up going to find Rose and Pearl.

Pearl looked over at the fusion and smiled.

Rose smiled as well. "Are you two happy?"

Garnet nods and adjusted her new glasses. "Yes, yes we are."

Steven's house

"You two are so perfect for each other." Steven smiled but then sighs standing up. "I just have to let Connie know how I feel. And the two of us will work it out. Thanks Garnet."

Garnet adjusted her glasses smiling. "Don't just thank me." She let a small laugh escape making Steven laugh with her.
