The sun slowly rose over the ocean. Inside of a small home in New Homeworld, Bleu was curled up onto his side lying in bed next to Lapis Lazuli. He was snoring softly as the gentle hand of the blue gem strokes his hair as she read a book to herself. Lapis had picked up reading as one of her new favorite pastimes besides creating Meep Morps and entertaining some of the kids that came to New Homeworld to hang out with the other Gems. She also discovered that Bleu liked it when she ran her fingers through his hair in his sleep and started doing it for him every time he was relaxing next to her. Hours had passed by as the young adult continues to sleep. He tossed and turned from time to time letting out softly mumbles that made Lapis giggle and even blush lightly when she heard her name. The past two days have been very eventful for the two of them and it was always enlightening when Bleu opened up more and start letting his true colors show. It was completely silent besides the soft sounds of the waves hitting the shoreline. The day slowly rolled into the afternoon as Bleu continues to sleep. The atmosphere of the room felt peaceful on that side of the home, but on the other side, Peridot was staring at the two of them as she slowly built things in her lap on the floor.
".... Is he dead?" Peridot asked lowly.
Lapis sighs softly as she continues to read her book. "For the seventh time, no. He's just asleep."
"Why does he sleep so much. The day is almost halfway over and he hasn't even done anything?" Peridot asked.
"It's just what he likes to do I guess. And who cares how he spends his days. If he wants to sleep then I'll let him sleep. I'm not a mother or a rule giver." Lapis replied as she turned a page in her book.
Peridot looked down at the things that were in her lap. "Steven never slept that long."
"He's not Steven, he's Bleu." Lapis looked up from the book finally getting annoyed. "Why are you so against him?"
"I'm not against him." Peridot looked up frowning. "He's just so different from our Steven. Not to mention the fact that he has changed your personality so much ever since you two became a thing."
"He may have a little to do with how I act now, but that doesn't mean I'm not myself anymore. I'm happy Peridot, and your attitude is bumming me out."
Bleu whined lightly hearing the arguing. He turned onto his side slowly waking up.
Lapis looked back down at her book trying to end the discussion before things got out of hand. "Go do something that doesn't involve you being here."
Peridot stood up and huffed. "Fine, it's not like I wanted to be stuck in this place all day anyways." She went to the door and left slamming it shut behind her.
Bleu yelps as he was woken up fully by the slam. He sat up onto his forearms shaking. "W-what was that?"
Lapis set the book down and wrapped her arms around Bleu gently hugging him. "Shhh, it's okay. It was just Peridot being a jerk. She slammed the door when she left."
Bleu sighs out in relief placing a hand over his heart. "That startled me so much. My heart is beating so fast."
"Really? Let me see." Lapis leaned over and placed her ear to his chest to listen to his heartbeat.
Bleu blushes lightly as he looked down at her then giggled when her hair tickles his face. "Lapis." He laughs lightly. "You're tickling me."
Lapis looked up with a smile on her face. "Am I?" She asked and proceeded to tickle him more with her hands.
Bleu breaks out into laughter as he tried to stop her. "No!" He laughed and eventually tackled Lapis to the bed with a hug. "I got you."
Lapis giggled lightly as she wrapped her arms loosely around Bleu's neck. "Yup, you got me."
