Steven was about to open the door to wait outside for Connie to get there. To his surprise, she was the one who opened the door before he could making his body almost fall forward.
Pearl was there to catch him. "Whoa there, you okay?" She asked helping him stand up straight.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just wondering where you guys were." Steven smiled looking at all his friends and his dad.
"You shouldn't be walking around kiddo. Mrs. Maheswaran told me that bed rest is needed, even though I don't think she knows how to help you." Greg chuckled lightly. "No offense to your mom Connie."
"Oh it's fine. I'm going to call her later and see if she would like to learn more about the gem culture from Pearl." Connie puts a loving touch on Stevens back leading him back inside.
"I'm so honored to be the one to teach another human about us. Ohh, it makes me so excited!" Pearl walked in actually being very excited until she saw Garnet with a smile on her face. "What did you two talk about?"
"Oh, uh... It was about.. something personal. Connie, can you help me upstairs?" Steven asked to steer the conversation towards what he wanted to do.
Connie nods and with the help of Greg they got Steven up to his bedroom easily.
Pearl looked back to Garnet seeing if she could get another answer.
Garnet held up a finger and shushed quietly making it a secret.

Greg helped Steven lay down on the bed. "Let's get you into some clean clothes." He went over to the closet to pull out some pajamas to make things more comfortable.
Connie smiled softly waiting in the corner of the room.
"Connie, can you help Steven get dressed? I have to get back to the wash." Greg hands Connie the clothes before going to Steven's side to kiss his forehead. "You okay for now? Just call and I will bring you anything you want."
Steven smiled and hugged his dad. "I'm okay, and I have Connie and the Gems here to help me. You go do what you need to do." He sat up looking a little embarrassed at Connie when his dad left the room. "Alone again." He chuckled lightly.
"Yeah... So how do you want to do this?" Connie asked setting the clothes down next to Steven. "Do you have the energy to do it?"
"I think I can do it alone." Steven frowns softly taking his shirt off first. "Connie... Can we talk for a moment?"
"About what?" Connie sat down watching Steven carefully in case she was needed.
"About us." Steven leans back pulling his pants off.
Connie looked down holding her hands. "What about us?"
"Do you think I am forcing you to do this? Go out with me?" Steven looked over standing up to pull on his clean pants.
"Steven..." Connie looked up smiling. "I love having all of these new feelings with you. I haven't felt this thrilled or happy in a while. I mean not that I wasn't unhappy around you." She stood up to help him. "Look, your dad was telling me something at the Big Donut before we came back here. He said it's okay yo make mistakes. Relationships build on mistakes and hate too. He told me that he remembered one time that he hated the fact that Rose was always not including him on their gem business, leaving him out. He told Rose not to never talk to him again."
"My dad said that to my mom?!" Steven looked up at her shocked. "What happened after that?"
"Rose came to Greg's side a few days later and sat down with him. She said that she totally understood what he was going through. She told him a story about when she was separated from Pearl during the war. She was scared, alone, and felt abandoned. She promised to tell him everything that she did when she wasn't around him. This made him happy." Connie smiled softly looking at Steven. "Kinda sounds like you almost."
"Yeah... I would hate it all the time being left alone in the house when the Crystal Gems went out on missions when I was younger." Steven chuckled pulling his shirt over his shoulder and buttoned it.
Connie placed a kiss on Steven's cheek. "I love you, and I hope that you and I can be together forever." She held his hand helping him back into the bed. "Uh oh... Maybe we should clean up first." She noticed that all the blood from the day before was still on the sheets and mattress. "Garnet, can you help us!" She called for help.
Garnet walked up the stairs and nods. "Amethyst, can you check in your room for one of the spare queen mattress." She asked looking back downstairs.
"Yup!" Amethyst runs to the temple doors and goes inside to check.
"Pearl, gather clean sheets from the closet." Garnet walked over to Steven. "You're going to have to move." She smiled.
"I got him." Connie gets Steven to the chair and watched Garnet lift up the bloody mattress easily and takes it to the communication hub and warped it into the temple through there.
Pearl came upstairs smiling. "These past days sure have been eventful.""Yeah, they have. Again I am so sorry you guys." Steven rubbed his gem. "I would have told you all sooner if I knew what it was."
"You don't have to keep blaming yourself Steven. We were all blindsided by this." Connie hugged him gently. "I'm just glad you'll be okay after all of this."
"Me too." Steven hugged her back.
