We Can Do This... We Can't Do That

Steven turned his attention back to the Warp Pad when the others finally arrived.

"Geez, you couldn't wait for us?" Amethyst folds her arms a little upset.

"Amethyst, what did I just say?" Pearl tugged on the others arm in anger.

Steven narrowed his eyes a bit. "Pearl, a word please."

Pearl looked up nervously. "Okay.." she slowly walked over to him.

"Thank you for your efforts today everyone, you're free to do whatever you want." Steven made a gesture over his shoulder walking out of the hub and to the front of the house.

Pearl looked over her shoulder nervously again before slowly following him.

"She is so screwed." Lapis folds her arms.

Bismuth sighs. "Why don't we all go inside and think of what to do next." She leads everyone to the living room.

Pearl came around the corner of the house seeing Steven had walked all the way down the stairs and to the beach. She ran to catch up. "You got over here real quick." She smiled.

Steven looked over at her. "All I did was walk." He looked back at the ocean staring at the setting sun. "It's been so long since I've seen this world with my own eyes." He slipped off his flip flops and walked into the waters just far enough for it to go up to his knees.

"Right... Ever since Rose..." Pearl frowns lightly as she stepped into the water as well. She clenched her fists. "I n-"

"Why are you acting the way you are?" Steven interrupted.

"I'm sorry??" Pearl looked back up.

"Don't be acting like a fool now Pearl. I can it in your eyes." Steven turned to look at her. He gently touched his gem. "Would it make things better..." It slowly glowed. "If I talked like this?" His voice slowly turned to Rose's. "Or like this?" He tilts his head when he sounded like Pink now.

Pearl blushed deeply with tears in her eyes.

"You can't choose, can you? Is it cause you loved both of them equally?" Steven asked walking over to Pearl making his voice go back to normal.

"My Diamond this is not fair. You know my heart belongs to Pink. Whether you sound like Rose or Steven I have always loved My Diamond." Pearl dropped to her knees crying softly into her hands. She didn't care that she got wet. She was sad.

Steven frowns watching her. His gem glows lightly again as he knelt onto one knee not caring if he got wet as well. "Pearl, it's okay, I'm here." His voice was Pink's again. "Please don't cry. If it makes you feel better I'll let you call me what you want while I'm taking over, okay?"

Pearl rubbed her eyes looking into Steven's eyes. She stared into the pink-colored eyes blushing lightly. "I'm sorry Steven."

"Why are you apologizing to him?" Steven asked.

"Because of this." Pearl gently pulled Steven into a kiss.

Steven gasps lightly when he felt the cooling lips of the Pearl on his own warm ones. His pink eyes sparkle lightly.

Pearl breaks the kiss and wipes the tears away from her eyes. "I'm sorry for that My Diamond. I won't let it happen again."
