Thirty minutes pass by of the long and exhausting explanation of their journey to Homeworld, Connie finished her story letting out a long sigh of relief since she has never told her mother about that adventure. "And that's what we're thinking is happening with him right now, that's why you couldn't find anything wrong with his body. It's not the human body that is being affected, it's his diamond body, the body we can't see." She laughs nervously. "I know this isn't really to time for me to be laughing but it was kinda surprising to learn that he isn't actually a Gem but a Diamond."

Mrs. Maheswaran nods her head slowly as she tried to process everything that she heard. "After hearing all of this I'm not surprised that you were able to come up with that solution of yours. So now we're waiting for your friends to get ahold of those giant women known as Diamonds, hoping that they have the answers for us?"

"Pretty much. Since we don't have any knowledge of how to fix a diamond or if they're able to be shattered and cracked, we're pretty much unaware if their natural healing power is able to heal themselves or not." Garnet spoke softly from her spot against the wall with her arms folded across her chest still.

Steven started to groan as he tried to wake up again. He opened his eyes panting lightly. "C-Connie?" He called her name softly.

Connie turned her head hearing her name being called. She smiled reaching a hand up to caress Steven's cheek to comfort him. "It's okay, I'm right here... We didn't know Steven." She tears up again. " We didn't know that your diamond was cracked. We could have gotten you help way faster of we had known."

"But how did this happen?" Greg asked still not understanding what was happening. "Rose... The shield would have been able to stop whatever attacked him."

"But we don't know if this was caused by an attack or just natural causes." Connie frowns looking down at Steven's diamond.

"We have to think back to what Steven was doing before all of this started. Something had to have happened that caused his diamond to get cracked. A hit in the stomach or something blunt bumping into him." Garnet suggested and started to think. The room was silent for the moment while everyone thought. Connie gasps out loudly coming to a conclusion. "Stevonnie!" She yelled out.

"Ste-what?" Mrs. Maheswaran looked up at her daughter with confusion.

"Stevonnie." Connie looked over frowning. "When Steven and I fuse together we become a person we call Stevonnie. I remember yesterday when they asked for my help on a mission and I snuck out in the middle of the night to do so, I do apologize for not telling you this, but they needed me." She made a quick apology to her mother who was already giving her a stare. "We were fighting a Gem Mutant that was abnormal and strange. It was able to make the Gems' powers or weapons become useless. The only way we could hit it was with my sword since it wasn't a summoned weapon." She looked back down at Steven and touched his diamond. "When we are Stevonnie, Steven's shirt is lifted up and it reveals the diamond, so I'm guessing when the mutant attacked us before we were able to poof it, one of its spikes ended up hitting us hard in the gut, making us unfuse. Steven's shirt covered his diamond back up and no one was able to notice that he was hit until now. It just doesn't make sense how the pain is starting now and not when it happened." Connie looked hurt after explaining all of this. "And it's all my fault."

Steven shakes his head forcing himself to sit up. "No!" He groans out feeling pain go throughout his body as it was shocked again. "Ngh!!"

"Steven!" Connie gently pushed him down. "What are you doing? Stay still before things get worse."

Steven laid back down holding himself tightly. "Don't blame yourself, please. It's my fault that I never noticed what had happened to me."

"Steven you need to save your strength. Just relax." Greg tried to comfort his son.
