Help? What Kind Of Help?

The night went on as everything started to die down. Steven let Connie cuddle up to him as the two slept in the spare room of Connie's home. For the first time in a long time Steven felt relaxed. Sure in the back of his mind there was everything that still had to be dealt with, but right now, Steven was happy to be sleeping next to the girl he loved. She made him happy no matter what was happening. And even though this happiness would only last the time he was staying at the house he was still happy. Night turns to day and so begins day one of Steven's relaxation period. Connie sat up slowly hearing a gentle knock on the door. She rubbed her eyes looking up to see who was at the door. "... Mom?"

"Shhh." Mrs. Maheshwaran shushed her quietly. She walked into the room to get a better look at Steven's face. Noticing that he was still asleep she motioned for Connie to get up. "Come eat before I go to work. I know you won't eat anything else if I'm not here." She whispered.

Connie nods her head as she gets out of the bed slowly.

Steven whines lightly feeling the bed shift. He turned onto his side getting comfortable with a few mumbles as he stayed asleep.

Connie giggled softly watching Steven move around. "The king of sleep."

"Well let the king keep sleeping. He needs it." Mrs. Maheshwaran leads Connie out of the room and gently closed the door.

Connie walked downstairs and into the dining room. "Breakfast looks great Mom."

"I know it's not your Father's cooking but it's manageable." Mrs. Maheshwaran walked to the kitchen that was next to the dining room and pours a cup of coffee. "So... You two slept in the same bed."

Connie sat down at the table sighing softly. "Yeah, is that a bad thing?"

"No, I didn't think that the two of you were able to share your space at such a young age." Mrs. Maheshwaran brings her cup of coffee to the table and sat down to drink it.

"What do you mean?" Connie asked.

"It took me almost a year after I started dating your father to start sharing my own personal space with him." Mrs. Maheshwaran looked towards the stairs. "It just amazes me how the two of you act around each other."

"Mom, you do know that I've known Steven for six years now, soon to be Steven next spring." Connie frowns. It's almost as if she her mother doesn't pay attention anymore.

"I know Connie, I know... I just..." Mrs. Maheshwaran frowns with a sad sigh. She looked down at the table. "I just hate seeing my little girl grow up so fast." She looked back up a little teary-eyed. "Soon you're going to tell me that you're going to move out and live with his boy."

Connie gasps lightly hearing this. "Mom..." She stood up and walked over to her mother, hugging her gently from behind. "I didn't realize that you were so sad about this." She pulled a chair over to sit down. "Look, Steven and I may have known each other for years, but we have only been dating for three months. And technically since he's been in a coma it's basically been a week, maybe less. We love each other but there is no chance any time soon that we'll be taking the next step into this relationship until we're both ready." Connie looked away slowly. "We kinda already scared ourselves about having sex." She blushed a little embarrassed.

Mrs. Maheshwaran looked a little concerned. "What do you mean by that?"

"Well... It's not that Steven isn't really scared, I'm scared. I'm scared for our future. I know he is aging normally right now but what happens when he gets even older?" Connie looked up at her mother with worry in her eyes. "I have no idea what will happen to him as he gets older. Will his diamond take over to keep him alive? Will be become immortal? I already know that he can use his powers to manipulate his age... But... I just... I don't know what I'm going to do." She tears up lightly.
