Adeline's P.O.V

No shock that the cops came to our house first. Dad and I sat in the dining room table with Sheriff Minetta as he interrogated us.

"Where were the two of you during Archie's escape?" He asked us.

"I was busy working," Dad answered.

"I was with my boyfriend," I tell him.

"And who is your boyfriend if I may ask?"

"I'm sorry sheriff but you're a little too old for me," I sassed.

"Ms. Andrews, this is a serious matter here. If you don't tell us where Archie is-"

"I don't know anything sheriff. Now if you excuse me, I have to get to school," I tell him as I stood up and put my backpack on me.

"I think it's best if we had escorted you to school Ms. Andrews. Until Archie Andrews is found," Sheriff Minetta tells me. I rolled my eyes before walking out with an officer.

At school, Beckham walked over to me. He noticed the police officers that were following behind me. I walked quickly over to him before kissing his cheek.

"We need to act like everything is normal," I whispered in his ear. I pulled away making Beckham give me a nod.

"Come on," Bekcham said.

Word got out that Josie had a seizure today while Sheriff Minetta was interrogating the class she was in. Everything was pure chaos at this point.

"Adeline, I need your help," I turned around to see Betty walking over to me.

"Shh," I tell her before looking around. I pulled her into an empty classroom before I pulled the blinder down.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"I need your help interrogating the Midnight Club," She tells me.

"Why me? Why not Jughead?" I asked her.

"Because you're the only person adults will listen to," Betty said.

"Fine. What time do you need me?" I asked her.

"After school," Betty tells me.

Betty and I went to Veronica's speakeasy where everyone was gathered. Kevin had called her, telling Betty that Archie's wound was infected. Betty advised him to a doctor before the two of us went inside the speakeasy. I saw my dad and Betty's mom talking.

"Elizabeth," Mrs. Cooper said as she walked over to us," Don't tell me this is your doing."

"Adeline?" Dad asked me.

"Hi, dad," I said.

"I sent the invitations from the Gargoyle King," Betty said.

"What?"

"And, look, you all came," Betty pointed out.

"What are you up to?" Mrs. Cooper asked Betty.

"All of the secrets end now, Mom. And this was the only way to do it, to get all of you together. Someone in this room is a murderer," Betty said.

"Alice, we promised each other we would never talk about this. I mean, who else did you tell?" Mrs. Lodge said.

"I told Betty to protect her, so she wouldn't play the game," Mrs. Cooper explained to Mrs. Lodge.

"And it worked. I'm not playing the game, but many of your kids are," Betty said.

"Well I'm not playing the game," I pointed out as I looked over at my dad.
