Adeline's P.O.V

I walked next to Archie as we tried to find the last task.

"Wait, I still don't get it... Chic got red hair because Penelope's pretending that he's Jason Blossom?" Archie asked.

"She really must've favored Jason so much that she can't let Jason go and would do anything to keep him quote on quote alive," I said.

"Can we explore the craziness that is Oepidus Riverdale after we get the antidote and out of these damn woods?" Veronica asked.

"Maybe figuring out how all of this is connected is exactly what we should be doing. Hal, Penelope, Chic... they created this unholy trinity with direct links to everything bad that has happened in the last three years," Jughead said.

"Jason Blossom's death must've been like a trigger for Penelope who could've influenced Mr. Cooper and began everything that's causing Riverdale to be the murder capital of America," I said.

"But the Gargoyle King existed before Jason was killed," Veronica mentioned.

"Then it's a case of the serpent eating its own tail. It's a vicious cycle of never-ending madness that turns back on itself over and over again until someone breaks the chain," Jughead concluded.

"I wanna go home already," I tell Archie as I teared up.

"Soon, Adeline. And if something happens to us, I just want you to know that I am so sorry for all the times I didn't act like a good brother. You deserved so much better," Archie told me. I hugged him tightly for a moment.

"You're the best big brother anyone could ever ask for," I tell him.

"Looks like it's my turn," Betty said as we approached another task. She took off her little coat before giving it to Jughead.

"Hey. I love you," Jughead told her.

"I love you too."

They both shared a kiss before Betty headed over to her task. We saw Betty walk over to the tied box and take out a gun.Mr. Cooper walk over to us in his black hood making Archie pull me closer to him.

"You know how this has to end. You have to kill me, Betty. That's your heart, that's your truth. You can't deny your destiny," Mr. Cooper tells her. He raised his gun at Betty, making her do the same at him.

"Don't make me do this, please."

"Either kill me and get the antidote, or I will kill you and your friends. You have till the count of three. Either shoot me or I'll shoot you," Mr. Cooper threatened. I stood behind Archie with Veronica.

"One... Two..."

I heard Betty's gun click before she fired straight at her dad. I hid into Archie's jacket as the noise scared me. Mr. Cooper groaned loudly in pain as he fell to his knees. I looked back up to see Betty had shot him in his hand.

"I will never be like you, Dad," Betty told him after tossing the gun away.

"Enough!" I heard. I looked over to see Mrs. Blossom walking over to Mr. Cooper.

"Good God, Hal. You can't be trusted to do anything. You were a terrible serial killer, and you still are today. Useless," Mrs. Blossom tells him before shooting Mr. Cooper in the head.

I gasped in shock as Betty screamed in horror. We rushed over to Betty who was caught by Jughead when she fell. Archie grabbed the antidote quickly.

"And what do you think you're doing?" Mrs. Blossom asked Archie.

"Claiming our prize. We won, didn't we? We survived the night. We proved that we're better than this town," Jughead told her.

"That may or may not be true. Kill them. Kill them all!" Mrs. Blossom told her minions.

"Come on. Archie!" Jughead said. We all quickly ran as the gargoyles chased us.

It was already sunrise as we ran in the woods. I ran in front of Archie and Veronica as we hurried to find a place to hide.

"Archie!" I heard. I turned to see that Archie fell. I ran back and helped him up.

"Let's go," I said. I saw two trucks come over and it was the Serpents and the Pretty Poisons.

"Take cover!" Cheryl warned.

"Adeline!" I saw Sweet Pea come over a little.

"Sweet Pea!" I rushed over to Sweet Pea who quickly picked me up and hid me behind the van with Archie and the rest. He quickly left to stand guard with the rest of the gang members. Archie gave Betty and Veronica the antidote before holding onto me.

"Archie," I sobbed as I held onto him.

"You're okay. We're okay now," Archie comforted.

"We're clear," Cheryl told us. I walked over to her before hugging her tightly.

"Thank you so much," I tell her.

"I'm always going to be here for you, Adeline," Cheryl told me.

"Cheryl. Cheryl. Why aren't you at the Farm? Where's my mom?" Betty asked Cheryl.

"She sprung me from that Jonestown-like nightmare and told me to find you. Edgar was planning to ascend tonight," Cheryl explained.

"Oh, my God. We have to save her."

"Come aboard, cousin. Get in," Cheryl told us as we climbed in the back of the truck.

We quickly went to the Farm. We followed Betty to the room where there was only Kevin inside.

"Kevin," Betty said in shock.

"They left me," Kevin sobbed.

"I wanted to go, but they said that someone had to stay behind to explain what happened."

"What did happen?" Jughead asked.

"The worthy ascended, of course."

"Who did? Where's my mom and Polly?" Betty asked.

"Gone. Everyone is. And we'll never see them again."
