Adeline's P.O.V

When Archie and I got home, we heard mom and dad talking in the dining room. I looked up at Archie who motioned me to stay quiet.

"We tried to stack the jury in Archie's favor," I heard mom say. "Women, mothers, but... I don't know. Maybe it backfired."

"Well, you did everything that you could," Dad tells her.

"Ah, Fred, just think if I hadn't left Riverdale, if I hadn't gone to Chicago-"

"I was here and I couldn't stop Hiram Lodge from getting his claws into our son. Luckily, Adeline wasn't affected by him so we're not into too much trouble," Dad said.

"Dad. Mom," Archie said as we both walked over to them.

"Don't blame yourselves for what I did. Taking Hiram's side against you, dad, was the biggest mistake I've ever made, but it was mine. It's on me. You guys are the best parents anyone could ask for. Everything you've done for me, I don't deserve it. Whatever happens to me on Tuesday, that is what I deserve," Archie tells them.

"No, you are a good kid. You got manipulated by a mobster," Dad tells him, standing up.

"But, you do not deserve to be framed for murder," Mom tells him.

"Son," Dad said as he put his hands on Archie's shoulders," your mother, sister, and I will always love you."

After showering and everything else, Archie and I were sitting outside in the backyard, staring up at the stars.

"How are you doing?" Archie asked.

"Upset that there's a chance of you leaving," I tell him.

"I know about that. I mean about you and Sweet Pea," Archie said. I looked over at Archie who was looking at me.

"We broke up over the summer. I moved on," I tell him.

"Adeline-"

"Archie, I don't want our last few moments together talking about my love life. I just want to talk about how you're going to be proven innocent and you're gonna come back home with me, dad, and Vegas," I tell him.

"Alright."

"When you get out, can we do that fun sibling thing we used to do?" I asked.

"You mean where we watched a movie and eat junk food all day?" Archie asked.

"Maybe not all junk food now but yeah. What do you say?" I asked.

"Sounds perfect. So do you plan on joining the Vixens now? Now that they're a little short on some members?" Archie asked me.

"Maybe. I might," I shrugged.

"You know you're guaranteed to get in right? Cheryl already took you under her wing," Archie told me.

"I know."

"It'll look good on your college application. Saying you did something athletic," Archie told me.

"You're right," I said. I looked at the sky once more.

"Remember we used to look for the Big Dipper?" I asked him.

"Oh yeah. You always managed to find it first," Archie said.

"As a proud Hufflepuff, of course I would find it first," I teased. Archie chuckled.

"Adeline, in case if I do go-"

"Archie, no," I said, not wanting to hear it.

"Adeline, in case if I do go in, I need you to stay strong. Just as strong as you were before all this," Archie tells me.

"I promise," I tell him.
