Adeline's P.O.V

I sat on a stool in the kitchen. Dad and Archie were in the kitchen with me as we were eating breakfast.

"What's going on, son?" Dad asked Archie.

"Is it your break-up with Veronica?" I questioned.

"No, it's not..." Archie sighed.

"Then what is it?" I asked him.

"I've been thinking. Maybe college isn't for me. Maybe I can try working with you in the construction company again," Archie tells dad.

"Well, there's no shame in hard work, son, but where's this coming from?" Dad asked Archie.

"After the crap I've seen these last few months, I just wanna get out of my head. Work with my hands. Try to make peace with things," Archie said.

"Well, if you're serious about it, you better get your butt in gear. Shift starts in about an hour," Dad tells Archie.

"Good luck at work boys. I have to get to school," I tell them.

"Need me to drop you off before Archie and I head out?" Dad asked me.

"No. I'm good. Beckham is going to drop me off," I tell him.

"Seems like a good kid. You should invite him to dinner sometime," Dad tells me.

"I'll see when he's available," I tell him.

At school, I saw Beckham and Sweet Pea talking to one another. My heart started to race as I saw the two together. After that night at the Serpent camp with Sweet Pea, I was worried.

"Hey, Adeline," I snapped out of my thoughts as I saw Beckham walking over to me.

"Yes?" I asked.

"You okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Cool. Sweet Pea was telling me that you've been stressed lately. He mentioned little things to know about you and I wanted to make sure you're okay," Beckham tells me.

"Oh okay," I said surprised.

"So what's up?" Beckham asked me.

"My dad wanted to know if you'd like to have dinner with us sometime," I tell him.

"I'd love that. I gotta get to class but I will see you later," Beckham said.

"Okay," I said before he kissed my head.

After school, I walked in to see my dad looking upset. He looked at me the moment I walked inside the house.

"What did Archie do?" I asked him.

"How did you know it was about Archie?" Dad asked me.

"Please. Who else would've made you super upset? Plus, I'm the good child in the family," I tell him.

"Archie acted up at work today," Dad told me.

"What did you expect dad? His girlfriend's dad sent him to jail and almost killed him, he almost died from a bear attack, and he's not going to graduate. I'd be pissed off too," I defended.

"Did you also know he's drinking now?" My dad asked me. I was shocked about this.

"What?" I questioned.

"Archie is drinking. Found alcohol in his room," Dad told me. I sighed in disappointment.

"Maybe we should send him up to mom. She can straighten him out. Plus time away from Riverdale could be good for him," I tell him.

"You know we can't sent him up with your mom. Archie's friends are here," Dad told me.

"Right," I nodded.

"We just need to find a way that Archie could catch up with school and deal with his anger in a different way," Dad tells me.

"Alright," I tell him, giving up.
