Adeline's P.O.V

It was no shock to me that Archie was going to fight Mr. Lodge in a boxing match. It was a shock to me that mom wanted to watch Archie fight Mr. Lodge in the match tonight. I had asked Beckham if he wanted to come as well.

"Archie," mom called out as we walked over to him after Archie came downstairs.

"Mom. Adeline."

"You're doing it? Tonight? Whatever it is that you and Veronica have planned?" Mom asked.

"Yes. But it's better you don't know the specifics because I'm sure you're gonna try and stop me."

"After everything that Hiram has done to you and to your dad and to this town, I wanna watch," mom smiled as she grabbed her keys.

"I know. Shocking that mom would wanna watch you fight someone," I tell Archie as we followed behind.

At the arena, I sat in between mom and Beckham. I looked over at my Archie who was prepping up. I could vaguely see Mr. Lodge in his blue robe as he walked over to the ring. I looked over at Beckham who held my hand.

"He's going to be alright," Beckham told me. I nodded as I looked back at Archie.

My anxiety was going up as I watched Archie and Mr. Lodge fight. I saw as Mr. Lodge has Archie in an illegal hold while the referee didn't do anything. I glared at the ref and Mr. Lodge before Archie put the gloves down.

"Oh no," I said.

"Holy shit," Beckham said.

Archie and Mr. Lodge was now going gloveless.

"Careful, Archie!" I screamed.

"I swear I'll tag in if Mr. Lodge hurts Archie any more," I threatened.

"You know that we won't allow that," Beckham told me.

"I don't care. I'll go in if I have to."

I saw Mr. Lodge give a big blow to the chest against Archie. It looked like Archie was about to get killed.

"I'm going in," I said, getting up.

"Adeline, no," Beckham said, holding me back.

"Adeline, stop. I don't want you to get hurt either. It's bad enough that Archie's getting hurt," my mom tells me.

I saw Mr. Lodge knock Archie down before grabbing his hair and pulling Archie's head up.

"Archie!" Mom screamed.

"Stop!" I screamed.

"Daddy stop!" Veronica yelled.

The lights turned on and off to get Mr. Lodge's attention. He stopped letting Beckham let go of me. I rushed over to the ring and got in. I knelled next to Archie as I held his head.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"You should've tagged me in next time," I joked.

"I had it," Archie told me.

"You did," I smiled. Veronica knelled down next to me and smiled at Archie.

"Did we get him?" Archie asked Veronica.

"We got him," Veronica tells him.

We took Archie back home and helped him get fixed up. I mainly did the patching up but mom helped on a few I couldn't do.

"So you and Veronica are quite the dynamic duo. Are you..." Mom asked Archie.

"I don't know. Sometimes, it feels like we're gonna get back together. But then..."

"Oh, personally, I think you're endgame," mom said.

"Endgame?" Archie asked.

"Endgame? We're going to use that term now?" I asked. If there was a camera somewhere, I would have looked at it straight in the eye like they do in Parks and Rec or in The Office.

"Oh, yeah. But it doesn't really matter what I think. Maybe you should ask her what she thinks," mom said, nudging her head to the side. Archie left while I looked over at mom.

"What is wrong with our town?" I asked mom.

"I don't know."

"I'm gonna take a big of a walk," I tell her.

"Please be safe," mom tells me.

"I will. I'll be back shortly. I just need some fresh air," I tell her.

"Okay. Be safe."

I took my jacket before walking outside. I heard something making me turn around. I didn't see anyone behind me before turning back around. I saw the Gargoyle King standing in front of me making me gasp. I turned around again to run away but I saw the Black Hood standing in front of me. A hand covered my mouth as I watched the Black Hood walk closer to me. I struggled to get out before I felt myself get knocked out.
