Thirty One

Adeline's P.O.V

I've noticed that Joise and Archie have been closer. On top of that, the Coopers were selling their house. Everything was getting out of place which was odd. Right now, Cheryl and I had to do out student body council meeting.

"I think we should ask another teacher to open their classroom for more school activities," I tell Cheryl as we walked into the room.

"That sounds like a good idea but we need approval first."

"But this room is reserved for the Farm from three to four every Wednesday," I heard Evelyn say

"Not every Wednesday, you daughter of Manson. The third Wednesday of every month is reserved for monthly Student Council/LGBTQIA meetings," Cheryl told her as we walked inside the room.

"I didn't see your name on Mrs. Bell's activity calendar," Evelyn told us.

"We should have had our names on the calendar. Plus to be honest, our meeting is a little more important," I tell her.

"Hey, bitches, we're in the middle of a quest here," One of the new students told us.

"Excuse me? You cannot talk to me like that," I tell him as I crossed my arms.

"Go crawl back to the freak show from whence you came, you abomination," Cheryl said. The guy and his gang members got up as if they were about to fight us.

One of Cheryl's gang members stood in front of him as she blew and popped her gum at him.

"This is not going to end well," I said, shaking my head.

The next thing I knew, everyone started to fight. Cheryl shoved me behind her. However, I noticed one guy about to swing at me. I punched him hard in the face before moving away.

"Adeline!" I looked over to see Sweet Pea coming up to me.

"You okay?" He asked me.

"Cover me," I tell him.

I stood on the teacher's desk before dropping some textbooks on the floor.

"Stop it or detention for all of you!" I screamed. Everyone looked over at me just as Principal Weatherbee, Jughead, and Toni came to view.

"What is going on here?" Principal Weatherbee asked me.

"Fight broke out. Meetings are postponed now," I said.

"We will talk about this later, Ms. Andrews. Please come down now."

Sweet Pea helped me down as I crossed my arms. I felt a really bad headache from all this. I quickly walked out before going to my locker. I took out my Tylenol bottle before taking one pill out. I swallowed it down with water before leaning my head on my door.

"You okay, Adeline?" Sweet Pea asked me.

"Yeah. Just overwhelmed," I sighed.

"Hey, Adeline. I just heard what happened. You okay?" I heard Beckham asked me. I looked over at him before wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Just a bit dizzy."

"I got you. Was she hurt?" Beckham asked Sweet Pea.

"No."

"Good. Come on. Let's get you some fresh air," Beckham told me.

"Okay. Thanks, Sweet Pea," I smiled softly at him.

"Anytime."

A few days passed but I felt like everything was getting worse. The worse part was that girl Evelyn seemed to be getting bigger because of her little cult. I had to agree with Betty from the rants she had told me. Next thing I knew, Archie was telling me and dad about a kid he's been hiding in the house.

"I want to move in with mom," I tell dad.

"What?"

"I don't want to deal with this whole thing that's going on. My mental health is going down and I hate it. Everything and everyone is making me lose my mind," I tell him.

"It's going to be okay, Adeline. Look, go take a nap, rest up, and we can talk about this more later," dad told me. I nodded before walking upstairs.

I had no idea how long I slept in for. When I woke up, I heard yelling. I grabbed my pocket knife before running downstairs. I saw dad walking in with take out just as I reached downstairs.

"Archie?" Dad called out. I looked over to see Archie standing in front of that kid, Ricky.

"Dad, don't come in!" I heard Archie say. Ricky ran off while dad and I rushed over to Archie. I gasped as I noticed blood coming out from him.

"Son. What the hell happened?" Dad questioned as he looked at Archie's cut.

"I'll go get the first aid," I said before running off. Once I got the kit, I started to help patch Archie up.

"I'm sorry, Dad. I'm such an idiot," Archie said.

"I've always known you were an idiot but it's okay," I tell Archie.

"Adeline. No. You're not an idiot, son. Just... got a big heart. That's so messed up though. You think he'll come back?" Dad asked Archie.

"With my luck, definitely. Probably at a worst time, and with his friends," Archie told him.

"Yeah. Hold on."

"You really need to stop getting yourself in trouble," I tell Archie.

"I know."

Dad came over before giving Archie a card. I looked over to see that it was a Griffins and Gargoyles card. Kill the red paladin.

"How many people did you piss off?" I asked Archie.

"A lot apparently," Archie said.

"Not surprised," I tell him.

"I need to do something so you and dad won't get hurt."

"We can defend ourselves, Archie. You need to focus on staying alive," I tell him.

"Adeline, did you think about what you said earlier?" Dad asked me.

"Yeah. I still want to go through with it," I tell him.

"With what?" Archie asked me.

"I want to live with mom. Riverdale isn't making me happy and it's making me really stressed out," I tell him.

"You're leaving?" Archie asked.

"Well, I was thinking of leaving after the year is over," I explained.

"That sounds fine, honey. In fact, that should be enough time for you to transfer out and give your mom a heads up," dad told me. I smiled and nodded at him. I walked over before hugging my dad tightly.

"I love you guys but I need to get out of here for a bit," I tell him.

"I know sweetie. You deserve a break," dad told me before kissing my head.
