Forty Three

Adeline's P.O.V

"Hey mom!" I called out as I walked downstairs.

"Yes?"

"How does my dress from prom look?" I asked as I spun around.

"You look gorgeous sweetheart! I can't believe my little girl is going to her first prom," mom smiled at me.

"I know right!"

"I want to make sure that I have enough pictures," mom said.

"You will," I tell her.

Cheryl told me that the theme changed after Betty and Jughead asked her to. And because of this theme changed, Cheryl and I had to get new dresses for prom. Cheryl told me to still stick with my pink aesthetic however.

"Archie! Let's get a picture of you and Adeline!" Dad told me. I saw Archie come downstairs making me smile. Mom and dad took some pictures of us before I heard the doorbell ring.

I opened the door to see Beckham in his outfit. Although, he reminded me of Peter Pevensie from Narnia. Beckham had a corsage for me and a boutonniere for me.

"You look beautiful," Beckham told me.

"You look great yourself," I tell him.

"Beckham! Wonderful to see you. Come on and let's take some pictures," mom said.

"It's nice to see you again," Beckham said.

"It's nice to see you again as well. Let me take some pictures before I let you three go," mom told us.

After we took some pictures, we were allowed to go to the prom. Archie left to go pick up Veronica while Beckham took me in his car. Beckham helped me out of the car before escorting me to the prom.

"Adeline! I love your dress," I heard. I looked over to see Cheryl smiling at me.

"Thank you Cheryl," I smiled.

"May I have this dance, m'lady?" Beckham asked me as he bowed a little with his hand out.

"You may," I curtsied a little before placing my hand in his.

Beckham stood up straight more before dancing with me. I smiled up at him as we continued to dance.

"I love you," Beckham told me.

"I love you too," I smiled before leaning up to give him a kiss.

After some dancing and pictures, Beckham and I relaxed a little by having some food as we sat down.

"Good evening, Riverdale Renaissance Revelers," I looked up to see what was about to happen. "At long last, it's time to announce this year's court. And the winner of prom queen...is Betty Cooper."

Beckham and I clapped for Betty's winning but I didn't see her go on stage. Everyone looked around to find where Betty was.

"Is Betty here?" Beckham asked me.

"I saw her a little while ago," I tell him.

"Weird."

After the coronations, the music resumed and everyone started going back to dancing. Not too long later, the cops showed up. They had to let us out to go home almost one by one.

"Why did the cops show up? This is legal to have a dance at school," I said confused.

"We'll find out later tomorrow," Beckham said before kissing my head. I sighed before leaning against him as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
