Even though I'm using a song from the twenty-first century, the story still takes place in the 60s
Imagine
You were in the vacant lot waiting on a picnic blanket. Johnny promised he'd be here before sunset, and if he wasn't it was because of his parents.

The sun was starting to set and you started to feel tears form in your eyes. Johnny didn't deserve what his parents did to him.

You started to sing a song you wrote for Johnny, specifically about his troubles at home. There were some parts that didn't pertain to Johnny exactly, only because you felt embarrassed to dedicate all the lyrics to him.
"He stays home from work this time
He never really told his wife
He never really told a lie
But this time he decides that it's alright
It's alright
No one really knows his mind
And no one knows behind his eyes
The man deserves a medal
But he's never really won a prize, before
He goes to lock the door
He is falling in love
He knows it's enough
And the world looks down and frowns
Get up Johnny boy, get up Johnny boy
Get up 'cause the world has left you lying on the ground
You're my pride and joy, you're my pride and joy
Get up Johnny boy because we all need you, now
We all need you, now
Someone said, "Where you going?"
Someone said to you, "Goodbye"
They deflect the disrespect
When they say that they blame it on the times
They blame it on the time
We all know you're qualified to fix a chair and love your wife
They all know you're qualified
But they lie when they blame it on the times
And we blame it on the times
He is falling in love
He knows it's enough
And the world looks down and frowns
Get up Johnny boy, get up Johnny boy
Get up 'cause the world has left you lying on the ground
You're my pride and joy, you're my pride and joy
Get up Johnny boy because we all need you, now
We all need you, now
I will carry all your names and I will carry all your shame
And I will carry all your names and I will carry all your shame
And I will carry all your names and I will carry all your shame
Get up Johnny boy, get up Johnny boy
Get up 'cause the world has left you lying on the ground
You're my pride and joy, you're my pride and joy
Get up Johnny boy because we all need you, now
Get up Johnny boy, get up Johnny boy
Get up 'cause the world has left you lying on the ground
You're my pride and joy, you're my pride and joy
Get up Johnny boy because we all need you, now"

You finished and wiped the tears from your cheeks. "Johnny," you spoke into the now dark sky, "you don't deserve what those people you call parents do to you. I wish you would've heard, just now, how much you meant to me, but you didn't. You'll know soon enough anyway. I love you."

You began to gather your things and fold the picnic blanket. You left the blanket on the broken car cushion in case he came here to sleep. You finished cleaning up and stood up only to see a shadowy figure by a tree.

You could tell they weren't looking at you so you walked closer to examine. You got closer and heard sobs. "Are you okay?" You asked when you were right behind them.

They turned and you recognized those puppy eyes immediately. "Oh Johnnycakes.." You said softly and hugged him. "What happened? Was it your parents?"
He shook his head. "Then what?"
"Y/n.. I don't deserve you." Tears formed in your eyes.
"Don't say that, don't ever say that."
"I heard your song. You have a beautiful voice. I heard what you said after too. That's why I don't deserve you, you're too kind."

You smiled and kissed his cheek. "Johnny I love you because you're the kindest person I've met. Never leave me, please mi amor." He melted in your touch at the foreign language.

"I love you too bebe chica." You placed your lips on his and went to enjoy you're late night picnic.

Hope you enjoyed this, whenever I hear that song (Johnny Boy by Twenty one Pilots if you didn't know) I think of Johnny :) apologies if I spelled any of the Spanish language wrong or used incorrect grammar
