Tia – POV

"Brandy, come on," I whined into the phone. "I do not wanna go to the mall by myself. Ugly."

She laughed, dramatic as ever. "Okay, okay, damn. Let me get dressed—I'll be there."

I hung up and flopped back on the couch with a little smile. I was three months pregnant now, and it still felt surreal. I was so excited about my little bundle of joy. I couldn't help but shop every chance I got—nothing crazy, just little neutral things here and there. Gender-neutral onesies, blankets, even a tiny hat I found on sale last week. I told myself I'd wait, but... who was I kidding?

Dave came strolling into the living room just as I was mentally picking out which stores I'd hit today.

"Where you about to go?" he asked, eyeing me up and down like he didn't already know.

"To the mall with Brandy," I replied, adjusting my purse.

"You know we got Corey's game tonight, ma."

"I know, boo. I'll be there."

He smirked and leaned in closer. "Actually, you lookin' real good... Tell Brandy to give you a couple minutes."

I gave him a side-eye and stepped away. "No, Dave. I've been foolin' around with you all morning."

He laughed and threw his hands up in surrender. "You lucky I gotta go to this interview thing anyway."

He smacked my ass on the way to the kitchen, grabbed an apple, and headed upstairs to get dressed. I shook my head, grinning to myself. Same ol' Dave.

While he got ready, I sat and watched a little TV, still rubbing my little belly and scrolling Pinterest for nursery ideas. Eventually, he dipped out, and not long after, Brandy pulled up out front.

I grabbed my bag, locked up the house, and slid into the passenger seat of her car.

Brandy "Hey, bitch. Dave on."

We watched Dave talking smooth on the car TV screen in Brandy's dashboard. It was a short clip from the interview he did earlier.

Why the hell is this man so fine?

I couldn't help but shake my head, smirking. "Girl, he gone have these girls going crazy," I said, half-laughing, half-serious. "I'm annoyed, lol."

Brandy giggled. "You love that man, girl."

I smiled, softening. "You know I do."

We pulled up to the mall, and the excitement hit me all over again. I was on a mission. Soon as we got in, I was grabbing baby clothes left and right—neutral colors, of course, since we still didn't know what we were having. But that didn't stop me from going all out.

I picked up the cutest little onesie that read Mommy's Favorite. "You like this one?" I asked Brandy, holding it up with a grin.

"Aww," she said, placing her hand over her chest. "That's so cute."

I threw it in the cart and kept going—blankets, bibs, socks, the works.

"Alright, bitch, they not even born yet," Brandy teased, laughing as she watched the pile grow.
