Dave – POV
Performing in Las Vegas tonight felt like one long exhale. I was just happy this shit was over. Tia had been on one with me lately. She was tired of me always being gone—rightfully so—and things between us had been tense. She went and found out the sex of the baby without me, and she was hot about it. I ain't even mad at her for that. It's just a lot right now. She just hit six months, and everything feels like it's moving too damn fast.
Backstage, I sat down and leaned back while Tracy walked over with that clipboard like she was always ready to nag.
"Last show," she said. "Unless you want to add more."
I didn't even bother looking at her. "I told you weeks ago I'm not adding shit. Drop it, alright?"
She gave me a little side-eye. "Alright, Dave. So cranky."
I ignored her and turned my attention to Bully and Chris, who were already in chill mode, passing the blunt back and forth like we weren't in a damn arena.
"Y'all wanna be just like me," I said, smirking.
Bully blinked. "What, bitch?"
Chris cracked up. "Clown."
I leaned back, grinning. "Y'all both got y'all old ladies pregnant right after I knocked up Tia."
Bully groaned. "Shit, nigga, you think I planned that?"
Chris shrugged proudly. "I did. I shot her shit all up. Fuck you mean."
I laughed loud, shaking my head. "You sick as hell. But I stay shooting up Tia—she gets all this nut."
Bully frowned. "Our condom broke."
"Good for you using one," I said, shrugging. "We don't even know what them shits is at my crib."
Chris nodded. "Talk to that man. We raw dog."
Bully looked at us like we lost our damn minds. "Y'all two niggas nasty."
I squinted at him. "How? That's my baby. Tia the only girl I've ever been raw in."
Chris added, "I've been raw in a few girls, but they get tested before I even hit."
Bully sat back, rubbing his head. "You know my baby mama gave me something? And I thought I was only hittin' her."
"Damn," I said, remembering that situation. "I forgot all about that. Yeah... now I see why you so cautious."
Chris nodded slowly. "Yeah. You got a right to be."
We passed the blunt around again, the room filling with smoke and laughter, until a few girls came walking in uninvited—tight dresses, heels clacking, doing way too much.
I stood up immediately. "I ain't say I wanted no company. Get them out. My girl crazy as shit."
One of the girls walked up with a little smirk. "What she doesn't know won't hurt her."
"Nah," I said, serious now. "She knows everything. Gone head-on."
Bully chuckled. "Man, let them stay."
I looked at him like he was stupid. "No, nigga. You got a girl. Get yo shit together."
Chris laughed. "His stupid ass."
A minute later, Corey came strolling in loud as ever.
"Ay unc," he said. "That food downstairs good as shit."
