Brandy – POV
I woke up to the sound of the waves in the distance and the faint smell of weed drifting through the room. Bully was already up, standing on the balcony with a blunt in his hand. I didn't say anything at first—just went to the bathroom, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and threw on something comfortable.
When I stepped back out, he turned and immediately wrapped his arms around me, holding me tight like he'd been waiting for that moment all morning.
"I'm tired of fighting with your ass, man," he muttered into my neck.
"You think I'm not tired too?" I asked, pulling back just enough to look at him.
"Baby, I never said you weren't tired," he said, brushing my cheek with his thumb. "Come on, don't do that. Let's just talk it out."
I sighed, my body relaxing into his. "I just feel like... I should be able to ask to see your phone without it turning into a thing. But when it does become a thing, that's when I start wondering if you're hiding something."
He looked me dead in my face. "Brandy, you can see my phone right now. I promise you, I'm not hiding anything. But I don't want you looking at it just to catch me slipping. I want you to trust me when I tell you that I got you. This relationship? It means everything to me. I say little shit sometimes just to push your buttons, but I swear—I only want you."
I bit my lip, fighting the emotions. "It's not even that I don't trust you. I just ask to see it to see how you respond. Because Don used to say the same things you say, and that man was doing all kinds of foul shit behind my back."
"Baby girl," Bully said gently, "I'm not that lame-ass nigga. I would never do that to you. I promise you that."
"I know," I said quietly. "I don't even want to make a big thing out of a phone. I know it's not that deep."
He nodded. "It was the principle of how I responded that made you feel a way. I'm with you. I hear you. And I'll do better, alright?"
I smiled and leaned into his chest. "Thank you, Pooh Bear. I appreciate you trying to understand where I was coming from."
"You know I'll do anything for you, Big Mama," he said with a grin.
"My stomach is touching my back," I whined. "I'm hungry."
"Come on," he said, grabbing my hand. "The chef was already cooking when I went down to grab that blunt from East."
We headed downstairs. Everyone was already in the kitchen except for East and Tia. The food smelled amazing—waffles, bacon, eggs, the whole spread. My mouth was watering as we started fixing our plates.
A few minutes later, Dave and Tia finally came down. Dave immediately told her, "Go sit down, I'll make your plate." Then he kissed her, and Tia came and sat down next to me.
"I know you don't think you getting away with last night, Tia," Kim said, already cutting up.
Tia laughed like she was still half-asleep. "Lmao, first of all, Dave and I were minding our business."
Chris shook his head, smirking. "They just some freaks. They can't help themselves, man."
"My bitch a big ol' freak," Ki added, cracking up.
"Ahhhhhhh!" I screamed, laughing and covering my face.
Dave brought Tia her plate, and the moment she looked down, her face dropped.
