They have been best friends for...
I was at the studio laying down a few tracks. Chris and Ki were on the engineering side going back and forth about the beat. Bully was in the cut, and of course Brandy was here—along with some girl she brought.
Shorty kept trying to talk to me, lil side comments, fake laughs, brushing up too close like I ain't see what she was on. But I wasn't here for none of that. Never gone be. I got the love of my life already, and I'm more than good over here. Loyal to the soil. My baby was on her way, and the only female energy I was tryna feel was hers.
I leaned back on the couch, twisting up my blunt, just tryna chill.
The door creaked open.
I looked up, and there she was.
Tia.
"Damn," I mumbled to myself, not even realizing I said it out loud.
Everyone looked at the door when she walked in, but my eyes never left her.

She looked so damn good when she walked in, I had to take a second just to appreciate her. Skin glowing, body sittin' right, lips glossy—my girl was pressure.
Tia came in cool, hugged Ki, completely ignored Brandy. I glanced at Bully; he looked at me. We both shook our heads. Typical Tia.
She made her way over and without a word, I pulled her down into my lap like she belonged there—because she do. I kissed her deep, right there in front of everybody, my hand full of ass like I was trying to make a point. When we finally pulled back, I caught the girl Brandy brought giving us a stank-ass look. She was tight.
I sparked the blunt.
"Were my babies being good?" I asked her.
"Yeah, they were," she replied, smoothing her hair back. "Kenzie always gets fussy when you leave, but she was good."
"Well, hello to you too, Tia," Brandy cut in, loud and bitter.
Tia just laughed and rolled her eyes. I smacked her ass.
