Dave – POV
"Corey, get up so we can get to the PJ, man."
"I'm up, I'm up," he mumbled.
I held Easton in my arms as I stepped out of the room, his little body still warm from sleep.
"Why my kids gotta be so difficult getting up, huh, man?" I asked, looking down at him.
"Because you're so difficult getting up," Tia said behind me.
I turned and kissed her lips, grinning. "Good morning, sweet thang."
"Oh, now I'm sweet thang? Last night you weren't treating it as such."
"That's 'cause last night wasn't that type of night."
"Mhm. I hear you," she smirked.
"The girls ready?"
"Yeah, they in the kitchen eating."
I got Easton changed—already bathed him earlier—then went back upstairs to wake Corey up for what felt like the fourth time.
"Aight, little guy, let's go downstairs," I said, settling him in the rocker before heading to eat.
"Dada, sit by me," Kenzie said, patting the spot next to her.
"Alright, baby."
Tia brought me my plate, and I dove in while Easton cooed and wiggled in his seat. Corey finally dragged himself downstairs, still half-dressed.
"Good morning, family," he greeted.
"Good morning," we all chimed back.
"Corey, where yo pants?" Kairi asked, tilting her head.
"Aw, sh—"
"Corey Lorenzo!" Tia warned.
"I meant 'Aw, man!' I forgot I put them in the dryer to get the wrinkles out."
"This nigga..." I muttered.
"David! Not in front of the girls."
"My fault, mamas."
Corey dashed back up to get dressed. Once we finished eating, we loaded up in the truck. Easton was knocked out, and the girls were tucked in the back with their little iPads.
We pulled up at Mia's apartment. Corey went to get her since they were both touring the school today. May as well all go together.
"You think Easton should stay here?" Tia asked.
"That's up to you, mamas."
"I mean... he seven months. He should be fine."
"Yeah, my lil' guy gettin' so big, moe."
"I know. Time flying—he crawling now. I can't wait 'til he walks."
"I already know he gon' be bad."
"Just like your other kids," she laughed.
"Oh, they my kids?"
I called Corey's phone—he was taking forever. Just like me at that age, probably up there playing.
"Bring ya ass," I said when he answered.
"LOL, we walking out now."
"Mhm."
Call ended.
They finally came out.
"Omgg Easton, look at you!" Mia gushed.
